For the love of Magnolias!
I first saw a REAL magnolia tree on a vacation to Coronado Island, CA. The streets are lined with them and they look beautiful. I decided to buy one and put it in a planter until it gets big enough that I can transfer it to the ground. It came in very well packaged and with instructions on how to plant it and care for it. it's been a couple of months now and I'm surprised how well it's doing. Considering I live in Arizona, and it's not a prime location or weather for Magnolias, I just had to learn that it needs to be kept watered and surprisingly it survived the worst part of summer. It hasn't seemed to grow much, but after some research, found out these plants/trees are slow growers especially in environments like AZ. They will typically grow 2-3 feet a year and will reach a maturity about 15-20 years and will grow about 20-30 feet in AZ weather but can grow up to 80 feet in prime weather locations. Anyway, I think it was a great buy and can't wait to see my first magnolia.... in a few years, lol.

Thriving plants
The plants came as described and they were packaged really well to protect them through shipping and delivery. We replanted them, the same day we received them, in small pots. They are in a window getting a lot of sun from the southwest. They are really thriving for us. We’ve seen growth in both of the plants in 8 days.

Beautiful Sapling
I have ordered a lot of saplings from Amazon. This was the best one I have ever received. Beautiful, big and already thriving. I don't review many purchases, but I have to say, I was in love with this sapling from the moment I opened the box. It was at least 12 inches tall with about ten healthy leaves, thick stem and so, so healthy. I will be ordering another... or maybe two if I can sneak it past my husband...lol. I have already named my first one Maggie Malone and look forward to her growing magnificent and even more beautiful. I just have to keep her alive through the hot summer and cold winter! Wish me luck.Sheila Medlam

It seems to be doing will take a long time to be able to plant
It’s really just a twig with roots now so I will have to replant it in a bigger pot and keep it in the house and hopefully it will grow so I can plan it was in the next couple years. After repotting it died.

Arrived in good health
Plants arrived well packed and in very good health. Plants did nt show any sign of travel shock.

Expensive for such a small fragile plant
Packaging was great when arrived, despite long delays in arriving. The plant was smaller than advertised and without care instruction. Transferred the plant carefully and watered right away, and next day the leaves started to broken with some dark spots on it. My guess is lack of mulching (none provided) around the soil and roots may have caused inner root damage once opened and exposed to cold air, despite being planted indoors near partial sunlight for time being. I have managed to keep it alive since, but it is in poor condition and not sure that it will last through the season.
