Tester for cakes and potatoes
This is a metal cake tester and you can also test a bake potatoe in the oven with it. I use to use a kabob stick, but both work just as well.

It's a cake tester. No moving parts. It does what it is intended to be doing.

Very cheaply made
This works like any metal stick for cake testing, but don't buy it. The plastic holder at the top bleeds red onto the towel after handwashing, and it's clearly made of inferior materials. Who knows what you're being exposed to when touching it? Yuck!

It is what it is
It is a cake tester. It comes in it's little tube. I guess it is as good as a cake tester can be. If it was bad I would have noticed, so as cake testers go, unless you get one that jumps into the cake and jumps out all by itself, this one gets top rating.

Better than a toothpick
I had one of these years ago and loved it, it disappeared after a move and I was so glad to find this! It's way better than a short toothpick and can be used be used for years.
