Good case
I'm not a techy person but the installation was simple. It protects and compact so you can transport with ease. So far I haven't had any issues with it.

Compact enclosure for the tiny NVMe
This compact metal M.2 enclosure works as expected. Simple to install a 2230 SSD, then plug and play with USB to make a portable high performance drive that is much better than most thumb drives.

Very nice M.2 enclosure. Seems quite water/moisture proof, despite hole for wire/key-ring.
I have many levels/types of data backup, including an emergency backup I always carry with me.This enclosure became my last resort backup, hanging around my neck most of the time, replacing an earlier flash drive.Very heavy duty (and heavy as a neck item :-) ).Seems quite moisture proofed. There is a hole in one corner where I put a small quarter inch keyring to attach a lanyard. But that hole is covered inside by a second layer of metal casing that covers up that hole.I put a 2230 (30 mm) NVME M.2 drive inside, and it is very fast (as fast as USB 3.2 can allow). As is the nature of these enclosures with no real cooling or fan to move air, on that first long fill of data transfer it gets quite hot. Pops up in the 80-90 degree Celsius. But for my later data-syncs, where less I/O is done, it stays cool enough.Very nice, quality enclosure, that for me replaces multiple flash-drives and is MUCH, MUCH faster to use.Well worth the money, even as a small enclosure, and highly recommended.

Nice all metal case
Let us be honest: Thumb drives have real performance limitations. They are slow, and the industry hasn't decided whether to move to USB C connectors and potentially higher-performance connections.Enter mini-solid-state drive enclosures. These enclosures connect using higher-performance USB-C connections and accept higher-performance solid-state drives. These enclosures are larger than thumb drives (just under 2 inches wide and high and 1/2 inch deep). But they are not that much larger than thumb drives. They are pretty portable. However, they have much better read and write speeds. The average enclosure also has greater storage capacity than your average thumb drive--typically 500 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB. But remember that these are just enclosures; you need to install a solid-state drive (SSD) in the enclosure. For this iDiskk enclosure, you must use a specific solid-state drive (SSD) format. It only works with M.2 NVMe PCIe drives and accepts M key or B+M keyed SSDs. If you don't know what any of that means, you might want to consider only a mini SSD enclosure that is already populated with an SSD.iDiskk provides simple but useful installation instructions. SSD installation only requires a small Phillips screw driver (included). The installation process is pretty easy and takes only a few minutes. However, be careful to follow the instructions carefully, especially concerning the use of the thermal tape that is included.Once the SSD is installed, all you need to do to use it is to plug it into an available USB port on your computer. Depending on your computer architecture, you may have to format the SSD. iDiskk includes a nice cable with a built-in adapter that allows connection to either USB-A or USB-C. However, you will get much slower performance when using a USB-A connection. The fact that iDiskk includes a cable with a built-in adaptor is a nice touch.Once properly set up, the iDiskk is a real performer that uses the full bandwidth of USB 3.2 Gen 2. This performance isn't free, though. These drives can get quite warm when performing under full load. That is why it is so important that the iDisk drive is in an all-metal enclosure. With such an enclosure, the heat generated by the SSD is dissipated quite efficiently. Cheaper drive enclosures made by competitors often have plastic or partial plastic shells. As a result, plastic drives often get quite hot, and people commonly complain that they are less reliable and that the heat causes the SSDs to fail prematurely.$30 is a great price for a mini enclosure, $60-120 is more common. The all-metal enclosure is an important feature of the iDiskk enclosure, and the quality cable with cable built-in adapter is a thoughtful feature.

SSD drive not included
Silly me - I thought this item was a newly released "enclosure" that included an SSD drive. It does not.It appears to be a nice, heavy (metal) protection enclosure, but since I don't own the required SSD drive - I can't say how well it works or not.I am not a computer wiz, so all the PC lingo they stated in the ad was not so comprehendible to me, but when I read this item supports data transfer using Windows 10 & 11 - I was sold. I did not read anywhere that the SSD was not included. The ad does show an installation of a SSD drive, but I assumed that was to replace the SSD that came with this enclosure with a different SSD.Foolish me.
