Does the board have ON while charging? Also does the red light turn off when it is fully charged?

It does play and can be loaded with files when charging. I do not believe the light goes off when it's plugged in and fully charged.

How easy is the play button to activate? Is it the same small button used to create the recording?

It is really easy to press while it’s inside the stuffed animal, same button to record.
