They are not Ink and well but magic marker type so even though you get the effect it is not true calligraphy writing as originally done. Great for learning the art with no messy ink blobs or spills.

I use the small ones for Bible lessons. Makes my handwriting so much prettier. These are well worth the money. The do not leak, like some calligraphy pens, I highly recommend these, whether you're a beginner or have been writing calligraphy for years, also the do not stain your hands. This was a great purchase!!

Although they are not professional quality, they are close enough for the price. I would purchase again.

So far these have proven to be nice brush pens for the money. Make sure to use the appropriate paper or you will see bleed through and feathering.

Just starting new hobby of calligraphy and wanted an affordable set to get started.These pens are well made, feel good in hand and have a nice look to them. Another plus is that each pen is marked clearly on top and are easy to read (even with my bad eyesight).I like how they have a variety of pens sizes and tips so you can achieve many brush strokes and styles easily.The ink flows well. I've several different papers I've used, mixed media, watercolor, smooth, rough.Which is perfect as I like to write quotes or thoughts after a drawing or watercolor painting and these have been wonderful in every way.

The variety of tips combined with archival ink provides clean lines. The ink dries quickly preventing smudging and bleed-through.

The smallest one was broken so unusable- but the others were fine.
