Does what it says it does
It allows wired connection of two computers to the same printer when wireless connection is not an option. It works well, but is not automatic, you have to push a button indicating which input is chosen.

Faulty Product
Software that came with the product was faulty. Install software would open up.Wasted time and money … sent it back for a refund.

This switch requires either mac or win computer to function.
This device did not work in my application. I have a win7 computer and a linux computer that share a usb printer. This switch requires software installation on each computer to control the switch. There was not any linux version although there was a windows and mac version. I only use my windows computer once a year (to do taxes). The rest of the time I use the linux computer.The manual has microscopic type which I am unable to read, even with a magnifier. I know this is a cost issue, but many manufacturers provide a pdf version of the manual which I usually can read.The two indicators on top also have mechanical switches. Cannot figure out what they do.

Deceptive name and software that doesn't work. Barely does its function.
Well... it's a USB printer sharing switch. but despite loading in a bit of software and in spite of what it says on the box, there's nothing "Auto" about it. The "Crtl-F11" sequence in the very minimal instructions doesn't do anything at all. It also doesn't show green or yellow to indicate if the computer is or isn't using the active port.the only thing it DOES do, in fact, is switch between the two ports by pushing on the buttons on the front of the unit. And that is the ONLY reason it got a second star.Would I recommend this? Nope. Not since it won't do what it claims to do.

Works great under Windows 10
Works without flaw for two computers accessing a single printer under Windows 10. If we forget to hit the switch before printing, the job just waits in queue until the switch is pressed. Works great.
