Must have for beginners
I love the books that Alice Burrel publishes for us creators. Every book is so easy to read and follow. I was very delighted to find this new edition on Body Butters because I’ve been wanting to add it to my candle line. The book follows along like the other books she’s written. Very well organized and starts with the basics. It begins with an intro into the basics, benefits and usage of body butter and the history of why certain ingredients are used. The book transitions further into explanations of the ingredients including where to buy them and what to look for. This is so helpful for those who don’t know where to start. And she goes over different types of butters available.I really like that they include a chapter on whipping techniques because this will also help me with my own candle line. I didn’t realize there were so many different techniques but they are easily explained in the book. The book then goes into essential oils you can use and the benefits of each before leading you to a huge section of recipes to try.The recipes are all easy to read and follow along. She even has a section on preserving your butters and labeling them for use or sale. This is the easiest book on homemade whips that I’ve come across. Doesn’t disappoint.

Poorly written and formatted
Unfortunately with Look inside this book now gone, I'm shooting in the dark when buying books. This book does have some useful information, but it's poorly written and the formatting is terrible. The recipes are unclear and confusing in most cases. I don't understand the difference between the 2 whipping methods. The word "body butter" is waay overused. Nobody talks like that.I'm disappointed with the content and give it 2 stars because there is a bit of information in there, maybe 10 pages worth tops.
