How do you remove the old power button and then replace with this one which looks exactly like the one not working?

Before completely replacing the unit I would suggest unplugging the old one and plugging the new one in to see if that was actually your problem. In my case it turned out that the power button was fine and it was the motor that needed to be replaced.

Does this work with a berkline power recliner sofa?

If your recliner has a 2 button control and has a 5 pin plug it should work.

Can I plug this into an 8 pin female connector? My 8 pin male connector control broke and I wonder if a 5 pin can fit in that.
