Adds Core Support with Comfort
The ORTONYX umbilical hernia belt adds significant core support. It is size-adjustable with velcro and very comfortable to wear. I use it when lifting or doing strenuous activity and it is protecting my core muscles from hernia development.

Excellent design and sturdy construction. Built to last.
Great product. The insert, when positioned correctly, has helped alot with nagging discomfort from an umbilical hernia I developed after a reopening of an internal incision from gallbladder removal many years ago. I've also noticed improvement in digestion and a decrease in bloating. Highly recommended!

Comfortable and effective for abdominal hernia
I recently learned that I have an abdominal hernia and have been trying various belts and compression garments to help until my surgery. This product is by far my favorite. It's the only one that doesn't dig in or rub uncomfortably anywhere. It's also the only one that applies the right level of pressure on the hernia (thanks to the insertable, movable pad) as well as everywhere around the hernia (the others are all too tight or loose in different spots). In general, I've come to the conclusion that compression material which flexes in all directions isn't a good approach to hernias, because it spreads all around evenly, which means the hernia still has weak pressure on it compared with the rest of the abdomen, allowing things to bulge through the hernia. In contrast, this product works because it can be adjusted to apply the right level of pressure on and off the hernia. I definitely recommend it.Some notes, in case they apply to others:1. I have sensitive skin that is easily injured by rubbing, so I wear a camisole under this. I haven't had any problems that way, so others might be fine with this on their skin. It can also be worn over clothing.2. I have a herniated disk in my lower back, which means this belt covers that area, too. As long as I position the belt correctly, so it covers that whole part of my back instead of half of it, I find it helps the back, too.3. So far, I've only worn this during the day. It seems a bit bulky for night use (not that it's bulky per se - it's actually very good for products of its kind, but they're all inherently bulkier than pajamas), but since I haven't found anything else that works at night, I might give this a try. If it works, I'll update this review.

This is a good belt, nice taper, easy to attach
Good product that can easily be attached with different tensions. Length is just as stated in listing. The pad can be placed at various heights so you can keep the belt at your waist. Pad stays in place well as it is Velcro backed. It is flexible and comfortable even you need to wear for long stretches. Not sure about long term durability but has been fine for 14 days. Much much better than ACE bandage type wraps. This product is described accurately. I like that it is wider in the front but not the sides so it does not bunch up under clothes. The best I have tried!

Fairly comfortable.
I have a minor umbilical hernia that I got from either exercising or cutting up and removing a 60 to 70 foot fallen tree off of the property by myself a couple months back. Surgery is optional and I have decided to get it fixed early next year.Until then, I will continue to run and exercise. This Ergonomic Umbilical Hernia belt is allowing me to stay active. I was able to do 4 days worth of workouts wearing it this past week. I wore it on a 8 mile run and a 4 mile run. It is winter time where I live so the compression belt is not hot. I wear a shirt underneath the belt and I use the pad over my belly button. When I wear a shirt over the belt, it is noticeable that I am wearing something underneath it. The belt is fairly comfortable and feels very robust around my abdomen. Some workouts make wearing the belt a tad bit uncomfortable but I still do them with it on. The belt and pad does shift slightly off of my belly button during my workout routine. I just pause and reposition it and continue on with my workout. My plan is to wear this particular belt going forward after surgery and recovery for any heavy lifting tasks, helping a friend cut and move fire wood, and clear an occasional fallen tree where I live to prevent more hernias. I would rather be slightly uncomfortable for the time it takes to do any heavy lifting or strenuous activity wearing this belt than to have another hernia and a decision to get surgery or not.The belt gets washed and dried with my workout gear every week.
