Easy to take
I’ve been taking these for over 3 years since my surgery. I see where some say they don’t like the taste, but I feel it’s necessary so I just do it- it’s not bad. Yes texture is a little chalky too, but again- it’s doable. It has been effective keeping my calcium levels on track. Dissolves easily, easy to take. They smell and taste good, except that I have to say- seems like less so in the past 3-4 months or so… seems to me like maybe they changed something, but I still buy it. I use other barimelt products as well. If you have had bariatric surgery I highly recommend this brand of calcium and other supplements.

Finally! UPDATE
This is probably my first Amazon review. I had a thyroidectomy and as a result my parathyroids stopped working requiring that I be on calcium the rest of my life. The surgery also left me with some swallowing issues. Because of the swallowing issues, I have been ordering liquid calcium which worked fine -- until I needed to fly. Because the liquid does not come in a prescription bottle, and I need more than the 3 allowable ounces, I have been having to check my bags for longer trips. After a lot of research (I have a PhD in research from a top medical school), I found these on Amazon. Again, because of the swallowing issues, I was dubious -- but these are fantastic! They taste fine and I don't wait for them to dissolve in my mouth.. I just chew them up and swallow them. I've even dissolved them in water and drank them down with no issues. (I looked on the manufacturer website and chewing and dissolving in water is fine since absorption takes place in the intestine). They are a bit pricey -- but the convenience makes them well worth the money. I have not had my calcium levels measured since I started using these -- but I have not had any hypo-calcemia symptoms (e.g. numb lips)... I will update this when I get labs drawn. I expect my labs to be better as I can take these on a schedule versus liquid (Not only can I take them on a plane, I can take them with me around town when running errands. I set my time for every 4 hours and take them). Again, this is my first Amazon review to the best of my recollection... but I want others that have the same swallowing issues as me to know how easy these are to take. UPDATE: FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OVER A YEAR (SINCE SURGERY) MY CALCIUM VALUES WERE IN NORMAL RANGE. NO MORE HYPOCALCEMIA SYMPTOMS. SO, TO CLOSE THIS OUT -- THIS PRODUCT WORKS. IT'S PRICEY... BUT IT WORKS.

I enjoy taking these
I almost didn't buy these because of the bad reviews, but I just had my gastric bypass surgery and needed calcium that wasn't chewy, plus I ordered the Barimelts complete vitamin, so I thought these would complement them best.I actually enjoy taking these! If you suck on them they melt within about a minute. They are a little sandy in texture, but it goes down easily and it tastes good. It's almost like a treat, since I can't have much else. I'm enjoying them very much!My bottle also arrived with the tablets whole and intact. Now looking forward to my other Barimelts order!

These are the winners!
I like the taste of these, and once you crack them with your teeth, they disappear in no time. The Solaray Cal-Mag Citrate Chewables didn't taste as good, and sent me to the bathroom. The Jarrow Bone-Up powder did the same. The caramel-like chews were disgustingly oversweetened, with horrible ingredients. The Bariatric Advantage Chewable tablets are just plain foul. After doing days of research, and trying multiple products, BariMelts:* doesn't contain magnesium citrate, or give me diarrhea.* doesn't have mono & diglycerides, proplylene glycol, artificial flavors, artificial sweeteners or artificial colorings.* doesn't contain added sugar or corn syrup.* doesn't contain sorbitol or xylitol. (These also cause the runs.)* provides 1 month of 1000mg of calcium citrate per day at a reasonable cost.

Taste changed. I Used to Love taking these vitamins
8/18/24 Addendum Review After 3rd purchase: no longer has the same sweet fruity taste. Now just have a plain chalk taste, something changed. I don't like it now. The company need to know 😕.😞 Now I have to find something else.Review After 1st Purchase:After Gastric bypass surgery these are excellent to take, ease of use because you don't need water to take them. These vitamins have a powdery consistency, but it tastes just like a candy that I used to have when I was a child it does not have a horrible smell either. the size of it is not bad because as you suck on them they basically melt in your mouth. I love Barimelts vitamins, all of them. A few do break up in bottom of bottle but that doesn't really bother me. it's benefit versus risk. There are benefits in taking a vitamin that I like the taste of, I don't worry about a few of them chipping off, I really don't. I prefer this over having to swallow large vitamin capsules or swallowing pills at all.

Great Taste and Absorption
I love this great tasting product because it readily dissolves in your mouth so you can be assured that there is total absorption. Because it is made to dissolve so readily it can sometimes crumble during shipping - just depends on how well it is packed and shipped and this can vary by order.
