Tanit Coin, Greek Goddess of Carthage and Sky Goddess, and Pegasus the Beautiful Winged Horse (#13-S)

My coins have been used in the productions of "Shakespeare in the Park" in New York City's Central Park, The Canadian production company for the Percy Jackson movie "Sea of Monsters", The TV series "Elementary" and several museums sell my coins in their gift shops. Tanit is the Great Goddess of Carthage, worshipped there as its chief Deity. She is a Sky Goddess who ruled over the Sun, Stars and Moon. As a Mother Goddess, she was invoked for fertility. The palm tree is hers and as symbolic of the life force of the Earth, the serpent is hers as well. Her name means "Serpent Lady". PEGASUS WINGED HORSE: A beautiful horse with wings. He can be captured an ridden. Pegasus kicked Mount Helicon to stop it from growing and at the same moment created a spring called Hippocrene; Corinth, where the ill-fated hero Bellerophon captured him on the high hill of Acrocorinth. Bellerophon tried to use Pegasus to fly to Mount Olympus, but Zeus was not amused and sent an insect to bite Pegasus. Pegasus then bucked off Bellerophon, who fell to earth and died.
