Doesn't fit older panels
It seems to be a good surge protector, although fortunately I haven't had to put it to the test yet. But it didn't quite fit into my panel. Maybe it's an older panel (early '70s?) but the divider between phases was too wide on my panel for the slot in the surge protector. I had to carve out the slot in the surge protector to fit into the panel. Otherwise it would have been an easy installation.

These work in the older Square D and Homeline panels, as well as the new ones
I think this is a new or redesigned product as they work in the older panels. My home was built in 1988 and I had previously purchased Square D whole house surge protectors for inside the panels, but the connections would not work with my panels. There was no indication that they would not work except for in the big product catalog. When I found these I verified there was no such warning in the catalog for this part number. Installed the first one today. Now ready to order for the second panel. My installation took about 20 minutes. Don't forget to de-energize the panel before you work on it.

Seems Reliable So Far
The device seems to be working as intended so far. Hopefully, it will protect my expensive electronics if a surge ever happens. It’s reassuring to have this protection in place, even though I haven’t had to test it under extreme conditions yet.

For QO by QO.
Since most externally mounted surge protectors require two dedicated breaker spaces anyway, I really like that this one fits right inside the panel, made for QO by QO. The rating is in the basic category of protection, and anything greater would require an externally mounted device. I figured that the power in town where I live is decent and the chances of needing higher protection are slim to none.I moved the two breakers under my main 200A breaker to make room for this (I'm in the process of installing a sub panel with generator input anyway, so the timing works). Installation was literally plug it on like any other breaker, then I trimmed the lead down to connect with the closest spot on the ground/neutral bus. That's about two to three minutes if you have the spaces already available.I like the extra peace of mind, considering I'm already suspect of electronics that use all push button controls with nothing mechanical (my high end range just stops responding sometimes and I have to go turn it off at the breaker for a minute to let it reset). For the price, why not?
