Melted...
I had ordered this around Christmas and all the crayons had melted over everything. This was a gift for a family member. Thank goodness I opened it up before giving it to them or it would have been very embarrassing. Not at all happy.

Poor Quality.
The pastels are awful, but I don't know why I expected better I thought they were going to be oil paints, they are not.. but with that aside, the oil pastels really do suck. The kneaded eraser is not very good. The colored pencils are very washed out on certain paper and barely show up. Haven't tried the water colors yet, but I will update. The case is very different than pictured, and the sand papers or something falls out when opening, something always falls out. You basically pay $15 for crappy colored pencils and a pencil sharpener.

Not what i expected
i received this on time and was really happy to start using it, but, once i opened it, the box was broken, the pencils brake when trying to use them, and don't get me started on the pastels, these are not pastels that came with it, they are crayons. the only thing that was usable in this case was the sharpener. not a happy camper.

Hinges Look Unsturdy
I did not have any high expectations for the case but it looked pretty decent based on the description, reviews, and provided pictures. The case/wood smells extremely nice and makes up for some of the other issues that I will dive into. The hinges look like the case has been dropped 50 times because the screws/hinges seem to be coming out and damaging the wood that it's screwed into. I expect the case to break in half pretty soon because of this. I don't know why slightly thicker wood and better screws were not used, especially since the overall price would not be affected much. Each tool sits on a plastic holder, which is really annoying for holding things because it comes out/falls out often. The paint brushes fell out upon my first time opening the case and they would not fit in their respective spots, almost requiring force that could damage the plastic to push it back in.Even though the case has some downsides it's price and general wood quality/small really makes up for the issues. You could give this to your children and it would provide them a whole art arsenal for drawing or whatever art class needs they have. Even in highschool this kit would have been useful because it contains the specific tools you need for advanced classes.Pulling out a case like this will outclass most the amateurs, but don't expect professionals to be impressed. Like I said, it's not bad when it comes to what tools are provided, just bear in mind you might want to be a bit more gentle with the case from what I can tell.

Terrible.
The quality is severely lacking. I expected cheaper than the stuff I have bought at art stores, but this was terrible. The oil pastels are more like awkward shaped crayons, hard and dry. The water colors are very light and don’t really show up on paper. Some of the pencils are broken, and the paint brushes look like they had been jammed bristles first I to a table repeatedly.I bought it early for my daughter for Christmas, and due to that missed the window for returns. Otherwise, I would have returned it and gotten her something more useful.

It's Usually Best To Start With Something That's "Good Enough".
My youngest daughter surprised us at an early age with her ability to draw what she sees. While that might not seem like much, it is a skill that she enjoyed and developed over the years to the point of winning a few community awards. Fast forward to today and she is a first year resident in radiology. It turned out that her artist's eye provided her with a unique tool for reading x-rays, allowing her to discern shapes and shading that could be easily missed by others -- something that her teachers took notice of. Her demonstrated abilities resulted in winning a residency at Shands Hospital, a University of Florida facility noted for its radiology work. She mentioned to me that she would like to start drawing again so I bought this portable art set to see if she truly wanted to begin again. It is certainly not anywhere near the top of the line but will serve to help her find out if she wants to get fully back into the game. This small purchase for her will be enough to get her started. If all goes well, more expensive sets are sure to follow.

I should have known better. I expected an inexpensive but reasonably useful set of colored pencils and crayons, but this is ridiculous. I removed the packaging and the glue from the paper would not come off the wooden case no matter what I did. Wanted to paint my granddaughter's names on the outside and will now have to go through a lot of trouble to disguise the glue that's stuck on it. The inside is cheesy, too.

Not great quality at all
I had gotten this for my bestfriend's 10yr old son..whom is getting into drawing and art. Quality is just awful... He tried sketching some pics and just would not comeout right. ..the coloring is worse. Its gard to get a marking. Very similar to $1.00 cheap crayons where u press the color to the paper...yet a piece of wax stays on the sheet. You gotta then physically remove, and a slight marking is left behind. Very disappointed since it was a gift.

Lovely gift for my friend
Think this is a lovely box of art stuff. It's a gift for a friend.Just one thing though. On the outside of the box is that big information sheet. That's OK in itself. But it was stuck on to the wood with two big blobs of glue that is hard to pick off. Maybe it was just my box that had it. I don't know. I would of stuck it on with a couple bits double sided tape. Probably there's a way of removing the glue marks, but I didn't need that to do too!But I love the box and all inside!

present
unable to review as given as a present to a artist who seemed to be very pleased with it, and now in use

Nice simple art set
Nice simple art set. My grandson loves it. Note the water colour paints are small and thin so wont last long for painting types (but then so are all the others I looked at). The box is good and sturdy, and the items as per picture. Many pencils tend to be hard to sharpen and break easily but these seem fine so far.

No worth money
Not oil pastels, they are wax and not smooth or soft, all pencils and wax pastels and watercakes were not in colour order but had a good sharper but paint brushes are very horrible the Brissles are just falling apart, not worth money, but okay for kids

Very Cheap and Not as Described
The description and picture shows a nice leather handle with a snap-closure and nice wood finish. This is made out a thin sheet of plywood that was already chipped and coming apart at the hinges. The handle is metal with no leather. The inside of the case is cheap packaging plastic that falls out every time you open or close the case.T There were strings of glue all over the pencils from where the set has been glued together. The art supplies inside are very baseline art materials that you would find at the dollar store. Not real pastels or paint. Still, for the price I would recommend as a starter gift for young children who aren't serious.
