Does this grappling hook enable you to be Batman? or better?
Ladies and gents!I can be short, this product is as decribed!I succesfully was able to use this grappling hook to climb a building (my own house) - please don't try this at home - and it gave me the feeling of being a superhero for at least the duration of the climb and a few seconds after reaching the top. Although on top of the house I realized the grappling hook does not work for the way down...One thing I will say, please spend some money on buying better carabiners; the ones supplied are decent, but I would go for safer, especially when you are a stuntman like myself.Eric

During our recent adventure my children used this grappling hook to recover keys that allowed them to escape from a crumbling Lost Mayan temple. It worked perfectly. My 11 yr old son would like to see this added to a grappling hook gun. Please let me know when that comes out, I’ll take two.

You Don't Need This. Nobody Does. You'll Still Buy it Though.
Unless you're Batman, this a completely frivolous toy. I'd like to tell you it saved my life several times hiking, like when I was trapped in a valley by rising waters in a flash flood, and I used this to scale a sheer twenty-foot cliff to escape... but that's a lie and I completely didn't need to actually buy it to tell you that BS story. On the other hand, it is nicely made out of shiny stainless, and the core is threaded so that you unscrew it to lock the hook teeth in (for carrying) or out (for... whatever you think you need it for). Maybe you bring it with you for pulling trees down from a safe distance if you're cutting widow-makers with a chainsaw. Maybe you buy it to hang on your overlanding pack to look more legit... if you're willing to tolerate the weight. Maybe you keep it... near your tree house... in case you get locked out? Maybe it's for your canoe to use as an emergency anchor? I'm reaching here.In any case, whatever Batman dreams you have, this will probably satisfy on some level.

Great quality!
Excellent SS quality on the grappling hook. Folds up nicely for storage and the nylon rope is very strong. Pulled down several dead tree limbs & it works great. Grabs very well.

great product
would recommend upgrading the carribeners that come on rope, and potentially upgrading rope, or getting a longer rope, but rope is pretty durable. the grapple is great has fairly sharp ends and teeth, allowing it to dig into a limb without having to be close to perpendicular. would recommend purchasing. i have put roughly 350lbs of force on rope and stock carribeners, the carribeners have slightly warped, but are still useable.

This is a quality product
I have been using this to grapple and trim Tree limbs out of an old large Oak tree that was severely damaged by a storm and rendered unstable. I am pretty sure I have exceeded the weight limitations advertised, yet has continued to hold up. Please be careful using this, as it can be an unintended weapon. Sharp, strong, and rigidly constructed.

Well made grappling hook.
The grappling hook is well made with a nice weight to it . The rope that is supplied with it is ok but i would replace the carabiners with something more heavy duty , perhaps steel chain add links . I would also secure the rope loops better as they are stitched together and might break with heavy use.

Good overshadows any bad.
Grappling hook is great. Rope is ok and carabiners are cheap and dangerous. If I did it again I would buy the grappling hook from this company and the rope separate.Overall, it was a good deal. The grappling hook is awesome.

Good hook, ify rope
Hook was sturdy and folds up nicely. Had extremely sharp edges along the arms. Had to smooth them off with a file. Bought it to hook tree limbs to remove. So rope is marginal for that. Stiching on loops is ify at best. All in all was a good buy for me.

Nice for what it is
Nice hook. It feels solid and the arms/teeth are solid and sharp. It expands or or cracks based upon a knob you turn on the top of the hawk, and once expanded and the knob is tightened it does not feel like it will fold in on itself.I don’t know if I would trust this thing with my life (I probably wouldn’t), but I did buy this thing as a gift for a guy who loves outdoorsy tools and I wasn’t embarrassed giving it to him. I only gave four stars because 5 stars shouldn’t be so cheapened by meaning “Very good”, 5 stars means “f-ing great” and this thing is just very good. I am happy with it for what it is.

Awesome tool
I have wanted to get a grappling hook for many years, but never had an excuse to buy one. had a high wind event at work and blew our temporary fence into the soon to be detention pond. We got the fence out, but some smaller pieces we could not get. I got this hook to get the smaller items out.It was a little heavier than expected and seems very well built and sturdy. It worked very well and I was able to hook the smaller items and get them out of the water/mud.
