Good Product!
I used the option of attaching a real fan from my bird last year, and it turned out great! Everything worked well out in the field. It was about 20 yrds away from my blind and even though there was a good amount of tension or pull on the cord, the decoy functioned well and stayed upright!! I was a little skeptical about the string strength at first, but after this recent hunt/field test there were no problems. The string does stretch a little, but will not break. Having that fan movement to catch the eye of that BIG TOM is really a game changer.

Great Decoy!
This decoy is very life like after I put on feathers from a real fan. Put it up with some hen decoys and get ready. The movement in the tail brought the Toms in running. The decoy got beat up by 2 different Toms before they were harvested with a bow. I had several Jakes come in to challenge the decoy as well. I would consider this the best decoy purchase I've made. This thing is deadly and pulled birds in from far away. Strong winds will move the fan on its own adding to the realism. I attached a picture showing the real fan attached.** I haven't used the fan that came with the decoy yet, only fan jig that comes with the decoy and feathers from a real fan. I did add some bronze metallic nail polish I found at a dollar store to enhance the bronze wing feathers.

Turkey Decoy
While this decoy looks great after it is installed, it has several operational problems. First, it is difficult to carry to the field because it is bulky and the body is stiff and does not fold up easily. You will wind up carrying it in a bag or in one hand. The tail feathers that come with it are very fragile and easy to break. The two part metal post tends to come apart easily and that can be irritating when you are trying to install the decoy or when you are carrying it to your hunting area. It becomes just another thing you have to keep track of while going to or from your blind or storing the decoy. While the waiving tail is a good idea, the spring action is very stiff and if you are 20 or 30 yards away from the decoy it takes a lot of movement by the hunter to get the tail in motion. I gave up on the tail waiving action and don't use it anymore.

Be sure to make your own tail fan for this decoy. In fact buy extra tail-fan mounts and you can use it when hunting all four U.S. species. Works like a charm on gobblers that hold up just out of range. Just pull the cord and the tail goes down, release the cord and the tail comes back up just like a real strutting tom. Birds can't resist coming in and beating up on this decoy.

Like It
I bought this because of the ability to move the tail but it is impractical in the field as the string gets caught on grass and weeds so I don't use that feature anymore. I now set it high enough to turn with the wind or set it behind a hen decoy to imitate mating. Works good that way especially with the Knght and Hale gobble call.

Great decoy for the money
Great decoy for the money. Appears alive when you pull the string and move the tail feathers. Worked good enough for me to bag a nice Tom this past season! I recommend for a lower budget, because there are some nice expensive ones out there. Comes with the plastic clip to add real tail feathers to it also.

Overall looks pretty good. The wings came folded up towards the body and haven't come out yet, hopefully with time. Getting a real fan to put on the decoy is easier said than done. The instructions are to pluck the feathers and put them in a holder. I had a dried out fan from a bird a previous year and I wanted to mount it on the decoy. I ended up drilling a new hole above where the fan attached so that I could used a longer screw and bolt to hold the fan in place. It was a little more work and now I have a big fan where ever I take the decoy but I think it still looks nicer and easier to change than plucking the feathers.

Looks good, the only thing I wish when you pull the tail string that the tail would fold up too.

So realistic
Awsome looking decoy. Tail fan works good but could use a little heavier spring. The fan has a hard time straightening back up on windy days. It came folded up and it wouldn't take the original shape until I heated it up with a hair dryer which brought it back to its original shape. But all in all well worth the money

Gobble gobble
Works well, good quality. Only issue was the string that you use to pull the tail broke. I switched it for high quality braided fishing line.

Haven't got a tom yet with the decoy, though not likely a result of the decoy itself (though it did keep a fewer of the smaller toms at bay given the size of this tom)... Had a coyote go after the decoy, so I would suggest it works and has brought in hens for sure!
