are the boxes wood or is it hard cardboard?

The nesting boxes are a very sturdy hard cardboard.

Does this get boring for a three year old or older?

My granddaughter was three when I purchased it She never really was bored with it She loved the toy randomly bringing it out and challenging gma

We do apologize but the question is very vague. If there's parts missing, you can contact oriental trading/mindware in regards to getting replacement pieces sent to you along with instructions in how to do so.
