Question 1

What would be the advantage of using this over the 075-DV valve with a separate atmospheric vacuum breaker?

Accepted Answer

There are several differences between the DV075 and the DASASV075 irrigation valves. First is that the DV075 is a standard in-line configuration and can be installed below ground. Conversely, the DASASV075 must be installed upright, above ground, no less than 6 in. above the highest outlet in the zone supplied by the valve, and and no valves can be located downstream of the anti-siphon valve. Secondly, the DV075 does not feature a flow control mechanism to manually regulate the amount of water passing through the valve, while the DASASVF075 does. Thirdly, the flow range is a bit different between the models; however, the pressure range is the same. For the DV075 the flow range is 0.2-40 gallons per minute (GPM), whereas the pressure range with the DV075 is 0.2-22 GPM. Lastly, the DASASV075 is an anti-siphon valve, meaning it’s a combination electric remote-control valve and atmospheric backflow preventer in one unit. Conversely, the DV075 requires a separate pressure vacuum breaker (PVB) or a double-check valve where required by local codes to protect against back flow. We do recommend you first check your local authority having jurisdiction to determine what type of valves are required prior to installation. Question 2

What is the distance between the input and output connections of this item?

Accepted Answer

The center to center distance is 3-3/4
The between the two valve body's is 1-3/4

Question 3

can I use this for my garden faucet in my backyard?

Accepted Answer

The Rain Bird DASASVF100 Anti-Siphon Valve is intended to be installed above ground (where backflow prevention is required) for an underground irrigation system. However, it should not be connected to a garden faucet, but rather your main line coming into your irrigation system. If you're looking for a timer that's connected to an outdoor spigot or hose bib for use with hose-end sprinklers, drip irrigation or soaker hose applications, we'd recommend looking at the Rain Bird Electronic Hose End Timer (https://a.co/d/0TcLM3L).
