Really glad I decided to pay a bit more and buy this particular chair. We have lesser models at the office but this one in my home could see some time because it's for one of the rooms with a TV. It is a quality item that was packed well, easy to assemble, and comfortable. One of the great features is the recline control. Tighten it and it stays put. Other reviews warn of having to hunt for the recliner handle washer... I did, too. It got loose from the packing and hid itself under a flap in the box. If you buy this chair, don't throw the box out until you're sure you have all the parts because without that special washer, the recliner won't lock in place as it should. Overall: Looks great and comfortable!

Very easy to assemble. Firm and very good back support. For the price, the quality is good.

For the price, these are "good enough" for our needs. Most people wouldn't know they are knockoffs, and the color is truly neutral with no hint of pink as some beiges have. As some reviewers have noted, these are firm. What I like least is that the fake leather makes my skin tingle/inch. Another reviewer mentioned that as well. I will be sewing covers to take care of that. The only other drawback is that our cats' claws go right through the fake leather, leaving little puncture holes. They aren't trying to scratch the furniture, but just jumping up on the back of the chair causes little punctures.

Bought this chair to replace a Mac Motion that was about 15 years old. I was surprised at how easy it was to assemble. All of the hardware needed, including allen wrenches, was nicely laid out in molded clear plastic cases, making identification of pieces shown in the 9-step instructions easy. The next to last step is installation of the arm rests and for some reason I reversed them left-for-right and had a heck of a time getting the bolts to line up and noticed the seat seemed narrow. Then when looking at the picture on Amazon in preparation for writing my review, I realized the error and was able to reverse them to their proper position quickly. Amazing how much easier things go when you get the assembly right! Seat is much wider now and matches my old Mac Motion. I've had some back issues in the past and this chair gives good low back support and is very comfortable. Everything about it suggests high quality and from the attention to detain -- including use of blue locking compound on some important bolts -- I'm hopeful it will last a long time. It reclines back further than my Mac Motion ever did and I really like the piston-assisted storage under the ottoman cover too. I put small furniture sliders under the six ottoman "legs" to make it easier to move the ottoman on our carpeted floor. It is redder than it appears in the Amazon photo which, for us, is a good thing; just the color we were hoping it would be. Finally, I can't believe how quickly it was delivered; in only about 4 days via FedEx ground. If I could give it six stars, I would. If anything changes, I'll be sure and update this review.

Really looks good. Matches our Scandinavian motif. Obviously of good quality, BUT its comfort is mediocre. The recline friction adjustment doesn't work so it is upright or all the way back. It is a good addition, but I wouldn't recommend it for a personal chair. It's for guests.

After reading reviews from satisfied customers and admiring the comfortable looking lines of the chair, I decided to order the Newport. Love the taupe color, the comfort, the ease in getting up, and the swivel feature. The foot stool is comfortable in either direction and is easy to move. I will use a small pillow for additional lumbar support. It was easy to assemble - four hands make it easier to align screws. It arrived with a slightly damaged shipping box. The two bases had some minor issues. Lamps Plus was on top of things and sent replacements when I contacted them by email. With all the current COVID issues in communication, there was a little confusion about the replacement parts sent and I ended up with two brand new foot stools. I didn't want to wait for more parts and decided to just put it together with the damaged bases. The small dents were not even visible. Taped up the replacement box and Lamps Plus had FedEx pick it up. Everyone was super helpful and I love the chair. I will definitely look at Lamps Plus first in the future because of their superior customer service.

Great chair- comfortable, well made and easy to assemble. Perfect color - as described. Seat is very firm after 10 years in my old recliner, but I'm quickly getting used to this because it is a very comfortable and very good looking too.Was going to buy a soft seat cushion but now I enjoy the overall comfort and it's big enough for our 68 lb. lab to sit in my lap. Love that the foot stool holds my books and magazine and "stuff".

This was my second one, the first lasted about 3 years. This one only a year and a month. The metal frame in the back of the chair broke in half. I tried to upload a pic but amazon web page or my browser had problems uploading. If you do buy get the warranty. It's a great looking chair but for the cost it should be more sturdy.
