I started some advanced postures so wanted a mat with more friction than my big standard cheap mat. This is not the mat to buy if you are looking for good grip. Slipping badly even in downward dog. Quite annoyed that this may boasts about good grip - it's not true. Retuned immediately. Spent extra on a lifeforme may which is amazing!

Jute is a coarse plant fibre sourced from farms in India, natural rubber, and plant based dyes. This mat certainly gets more points by the added small rubber grips underneath, making it very safe on any surface and non slip.The colour brown would not be an instant eye catching colour, however there is some appeal to the style, because they are easy to keep clean and should last longer than standard mats durability is something that can be an issue on mats and this type seems to address that problem.Excellent for any style of yoga practise, a mat ideal for all yogi and yoginis, from the beginner to the advanced yoga practitioner.For those that are used to practising yoga on a towel or softer surface, this mat is a little noisy and coarse for the feet. One example when doing yoga poses and balances on the tops of the feet, the mat can feel a little grainy/rough on the skin. After a few sun salutations though its an earthy mat that will ground your practise.Many will appreciate using a mat that is free from harmful substances like latex and phthalate and it is hypo-allergenic, though it might be useful to try one out first to see how you get on with it...quite unlike a normal Yoga mat.

I love this yoga mat, its the best one I have ever used personally and my own practise is ever more regular!It is excellent quality, thick material, thereby giving my body a really supported feel. The bottom is non slip and has a jute finish on the top of the mat, also all easy to clean. I would recommend this product and think its ideal for anyone, no matter how developed you are in your practice.The only limitation to this mat would be that it is not lightweight and therefore not ideal for travelling, however still perfect for both indoor and outdoor actives.Thank you, I recommend and will be purchasing again from this seller :)

The product is OK but I wanted to add alignment lines to it, as I find lines helpful in my yoga practice. I contacted the company to ask for advice on what type of paint or marker it would be safe to use. I was disappointed to receive no acknowledgement or reply of any kind.

Lovely mat. Looks great. It's really thick but your hands slip? Even in downward dog. My hands weren't sweaty as I just tried out a few poses when I first got to see if it was grippy and sure enough my hands slipped straight away compare it to my 3 year old cheap rubber mat my hands never slipped. Very disappointing and not good enough considering the price may have to send it back.

Worst yoga mat i've used, absolutely no grip whatsoever, keep sliding about all over the place. Bought it as it said eco-friendly but it does smell quite chemically

Best mat ive had! Well cushioned, completely non slip and practically indestructable! Well worth the money-ive had four cheaper mats before this, all of which have started to disintergrate after a few months heavy use. Wish id spent the money and bought this mat first time round!
