Kwikset Convert Smart Lock Conversion Kit + Amazon Cloud Cam | Key Smart Lock Kit (Polished Brass)

When I first heard about Amazon Key I was a little hesitant to have "strangers" come in my house. However, I have since become a HUGE fan. First, they do not come into the house, they literally open door and drop in package. I live in a condo so this is great so I don't have to worry about getting packages stolen. Second, the camera is perfect for not only the KEY but also for when I"m out of town and people are in my house as well as talking to my cat through the speaker (don't judge... :) ). Third, now that Alexa is connected to my Key and Camera - I can lock my door with my Echo, check to see if it is locked AND see the front door on my Amazon Spot. I'm a true convert to this and suggest it to everyone!

I’ve had this device for about a year now, I am disabled, and ordered this on pre-sale. I had a few problems with the camera in the beginning, for example, not being able to Connect to fire TV. Slowly but surely, Amazon has worked around all the kinks, and I am very pleased with this lock. I don’t have to get up to lock and unlock the door, my deliveries are more convenient being placed inside my home, and it works great with the ring doorbell. I hope there is more integration with ring doorbell in the future. I highly recommend this for the disabled or elderly. If you have any questions I’ll be glad to answer them. Amazon customer service was great, and very patient with me in getting this working properly in the beginning.

Love it with the exception we seem to have to change batteries frequently. It’s been a lifesaver so many times and puts an end to teenagers that lose house keys because they never lose their phone. The auto relock has put an end to the dog escaping because “no one” forgot to shut the door. If the door isn’t shut I get a “lock jammed” notification before we even leave the house. Wish I would have gotten the 360 swivel mount when I first purchased instead of waiting.

Needed to know when the dog walker came and left. Showed me he wasn’t there on time and failed to check the water in the dogs bowl. Very easy to install and will buy another for the back door. I have showed my visitors the product and they are amazed. Best tool for the house. Thank you Amazon.

hard to add guests; they have to resend code every 4 hours to maintain access. the app does not allow you to much as far as settings go. This is only Amazon Key. if you are looking for something that integrates with your smart home, this will not. Does not work with any smart hub. it is a standalone unit. although you can lock and unlock with alexa, which most door locks will not let alexa unlock, so that is a positive...

This product came directly as advertised. The camera and lock are easy to install and our maintenance department can still access our apartment with their master key. Two negative aspects is connectivity is slightly unreliable. Obviously it depends much on your WiFi connectivity and distance from camera to lock. In my situation, the camera and lock have lost connection with one another three times in the 4 months I have had the product and has required me to reset the connection two of those three times. Every in-home delivery has been delivered successfully and when all else fails our physical key still gets us in the door. Easy set up and controls would give it 4 stars, but the unreliable connectivity makes it an average, or 3-star product in my book. Amazon/Kwikset, please do not contact me to change this rating, that is really annoying.

It was easy to install on my door and required no modification. The whole process took less than 30 mins.I got this because I wanted the Amazon key delivery and the simplicity of a smart lock.So the pros of this are:Easy setup, in home delivery, easy to use app, same password across Amazon account.The cons are:Delivery does not happen same day or next day it takes at least 2 days, the app even easy to use has to many limitations to make it useful for me. For example if I want to give my gf access to the house I can invite her as a guest, but she cannot use the app unless I give her my account info, so instead it uses text messages to unlock and lock the door with guest use which is slower and can be confusing for the less techy people. Not a fault of the service but the lock itself, the lock kept jamming or giving me false readings that the door was open when it was locked. Lastly having a dog can make the service not work as if the dog barks they will leave the package outside, after the first delivery I was home at the time so I showed him that my dog is fenced off from the door so future delivers at least from him were not issue.
