Much better this time!
Update: The second box came and had a horrible soil gnat infestation and most of the poor succies parished. I contacted Amazon and they sent me a replacement for both orders free of charge. I am so happy with the new orders that came in! So much better condition and they are all true pastels! I'm once again happy with this seller and will certainly continue to buy from them through Amazon. I can't wait to finish my project with these beautiful new babies!! Thank you guys for another amazing succulent buying experience!🌱💕It pains me to give this review because I've ordered from this seller multiple times before with no issues but this batch did not live up to my expectations. I ordered a large batch of what was supposed to be all pastel succulents. Less than 25% of what were in the boxes could be considered pastels. How is a normal elephant bush or crassula mesem. considered pastel?! They charge extra for the pastel boxes, so I expect to get what I paid for. Its odd because the odd n ends box of 12 did have like 6 pastels, but the larger boxes of 32 were pretty standard run-of-the-mill variety with no more than like 6 pastels peppered into each. They also were not in as great of condition as they usually are. Several of them had their stems broken in packaging and they were all starting to dehydrate (even for succulents!). Worst part about it is that I have another box coming tomorrow, so I'm afraid I'll probably end up sending both orders back. Darn, and I was really hoping to have my garden finished before having to go back to work.

Beautiful Shower Favors - Plan to Receive 1 Week in Advance of Event
Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase. I was skeptical when these 1st arrived as some of them looked rough out of the box. I needed these for a shower on January 11th...when I looked at the delivery time on December 30th it said they would be delivered by the 9th which only gave me 1.5 days to get my crafting done. I ordered on 12/30 and they arrived on 1/4. I followed other reviews for opening the internal box with the succulents from the bottom and that was a dirty disaster. I gave up immediately and just carefully pulled each of the 20 succulents out of the top and then opened the 2and box of 20 from the top and did the same thing. WARNING: GETTING THESE OUT OF THE BOX WILL MAKE A MESS! Just be prepared. On Day 2 I tried to water these with my sink faucet sprayer and it got water everywhere because there isn't much dirt showing for you to water. I got smart on Day 7 (I wanted to water them 1 more time before I wrapped them on Day 8) and filled a squeeze condiment bottle with a point full of water which allowed me to get under the succulent heads and wet only the dirt. I kept them in a Season n Serve so the water would drain and the succulents would not sit in water (bottom has ridges). I was blown away how well these did...after 8 days they were adorable, vibrant and flourishing...even after sitting on our granite counter under the window in the Winter. I HIGHLY recommend planning to have these a week in advance of your event...I got lucky and they were delivered early. As you can see they made the cutest favors!!! But wow, wrapping them and tying tiny bows took FOREVER! I got smart and used tiny crafting rubber bands I had to hold the wrapping paper in place...and then tied ribbon bows. Had I realized it would be so time consuming, I would have planned ahead and bought pink elastic bows or hair ties with bows on them in advance...that would have saved me probably 3-4 hours of effort across the 40 favors. Took a nap when I finished at 2:30 in the morning the day of the shower...6am came very quickly! Haha!

4 Plain, Green Plants....No Pastels or Colors! One Dead Plant! Don't Buy!
I ordered these in the "Rare Pastel" collection for my boyfriend for Christmas as well as an expensive planter and some soil so that he could create his own succulent and cactus garden since he used to enjoy doing it when he lived in California. Now he lives in Pennsylvania with me and I decided this would be a cool, creative gift that he can personalize by repotting them and adding stones, moss, etc. But I ordered this set of 4 "Rare Pastel" succulents and am considering ditching the whole gift because I'm SO disappointed in what I received. The plants appear to be healthy enough, though the soil is sparse and VERY dry for having been Prime Shipped. But my main issue is that I received 4 very plain green plants. I didn't expect them to be as vibrant as the advertising photo....but I *at least* expected them to have a little color variety or even lighter areas and ranges of color. There is NONE. There are 4 green plants that are plain green. For $18.99 and the "rare pastel" claim, I expected them to look a little different than the plain ones I could have picked up at Target or basically any store. I'm pretty unhappy and am hoping that maybe these develop color or "pastel" tones after they are replanted and grown (??) If anyone knows the answer, please let me know because at this point....I spent a lot of money on plants, a gorgeous planter, and soil for a gift and feel like I'm giving him generic plants instead of rare, attractive, varied ones (as advertised). The photo should be changed to show plain, green plants and the advertising is totally false as far as I can tell. I'm pretty angry/disappointed and hope this can be rectified somehow by actually sending me "rare pastel" plants. Would not recommend the pastel version at this time. *Please see photo before you think about bothering to purchase these....because that photo is what I received straight out of the box******* UPDATE JAN 2, 2017: One of the plants fully died before I even gave it as a Christmas Gift (so about one week after receiving them). I also see that the price went from $18.99 to $6.95?! Seriously? I tried to get a refund since I got NO "pastel OR premium" plants + 1 dead out of 4.... but the only option is to ship them back?! I'm supposed to ship plants across the country to get a refund for dead/falsely advertised plants and figure out/pay for the packaging it would require to do so? No. Thats ridiculous. Zero attempt to make things right /refund by the Seller. A bad product is one thing.... a seller who clearly sees the bad reviews and refund requests and doesn't reach out or try to make it right is a seller I wouldn't recommend purchasing anything from. One of my worst Amazon experiences in years overall. **********Update February 2017 - All of the plants I purchased died. Totally brown and shriveled. We had to remove all of them a few weeks ago and purchased fabulous, new Succulents from a different store here and the new ones are doing really well. Never got a refund OR exchange OR email from Shop Succulents. It was money down the drain. $18.95 for 4 small plants that died in less than 4 weeks total from arrival until unplanned and throwing in the trash. Never again.
