I got this for my 5 year old daughter for her birthday, and she absolutely loved it. She wanted to paint it right away. It's very sturdy and real wood.

I have my 4 and 5 year old do "team" projects to encourage them to work with one another and to teach the concept of teamwork. This was a great project for this purpose. They both had to work together to paint the train and it is now sitting on one of their shelves as a decorative piece as they are very proud of their work. The train is good quality. The paints and brush? Not so much. I highly recommend using a wider brush for the painting than the one they provide you with or your child is likely to become frustrated and if your child doesn't already have a quality paint set, this would be a good reason to invest in one. The paint included isn't really sufficient and the brush isn't really impressive or up to the task. We used our own brush and paint set and it came out very well. The girls had a great time, worked together nicely, and now they have a cute decoration they are both proud of on display in their room. Definitely recommend if you're looking for an art-type project for your child (or children). Just be prepared to invest in better paints and at least one wider brush to actually make it an enjoyable project.

I bought this product for my 4 year old nephew. We loved working on it together. Comes with enough paint to paint the whole train set!!

I see no issue with this toy, it is well made, it is cute and my son loves it. If i had to find an issue, it would be that some of the pegs need reglued and there could be a bit more paint. Other than that it is perfect for a 6 year old.

Cutest and coolest train ever! Its a beautiful wooden color with a paint set to unleash your artistic talent. My Godson loved it how it was... he didn’t want to paint over it. It was bigger than I thought which was a pleasant surprise! Beautiful sturdy train for my little 3 year old! The train is already assembled, there is no need to glue the parts together! Its ready to go as soon as you take it out of the box! He loves taking it everywhere so I might buy another one to keep as backup.

I bought this for my 4 year old grandson and he loved it. It allowed him to be creative in painting it the colors he wanted and easy to wash off the paint on him! It was easy to assemble and a great gift idea for 3-7 year old range..

Great kit to paint with the grandkids on those "too hot to go outside" summer days.The kit comes with enough parts to make 4 train cars. My husband and I preassembled the cars because we wanted the glue to dry before they got to our house to start painting. I agree with another reviewer that it is a good idea to add some glue to the wheel axles to give extra security. We had a similar kit of cars and after a few hours of racing, the wheels either came off or quit rolling easily.Another problem with the kit is that it only comes with one paintbrush. I'm sure it's intended to have the project for one child. But with three grandkids, we are allowed each one to paint a car, luckily we had additional paint brushes in our own home craft kit.I also cut the paint pods apart so each child could paint with the color of their choosing at the same time. Some of the colors were a little thick and needed stirring.Great kit for summer project.
