LOCTITE 574 – anaerobic sealant for keting LOCTITE sealants provide reliable and durable bonds. This sealant is typically used as a form-in-place ket on rigid flanged connections, for example for cast-iron housings or pumps. The sealing material creates a firm bond between tightly-fitted metals. The glue hardens in the absence of air and provides resistance to low pressure immediately after assembly. As the sealant is resistant to oil, water and glycol, it is often used for gearbox and motor housings. Thanks to its thixotropic properties, the product does not run off once applied. The surfaces should be clean and oil-free. The glue can be used for flanges with a gap width of up to 0.25 mm. Manually apply the glue as a constant strip or with a silkscreen on one side of the flange. For immediate testing of the seal tightness after assembly and before full curing of the product, a test pressure of up to <0.5 MPa can be used. Flanges should be screwed tight as soon as possible after application to prevent gaps from forming.
