Great Welder, Amazon has raised price though
I bought this welder about 2 years ago for $1600 (sixteen hundred dollars).I see it now listed at $2400 (twenty four hundred dollars). What's that all about? It's still Swedish design, made in China, so why is American inflation taking effect here (unless Amazon is just being greedy)?Great welder though, absolutely fantastic. Even better if you can find it where you're not being gouged.

Updated!!Extremely pleased with it at first Quite a nice machine. A tad larger than I was expecting but will work great. Made it about 20 hours of use id say and started having issues. Currently getting the run around about warranty.

Don't waste your time and money, get something else that you can find parts for easily locally
I have had this welder for a few years now and I have put about 5lbs of stick electrodes, and the roll of wire it came with through it, plus about half a big roll of various sizes of other wire. I don't weld that often, if you do then you know to buy a Miller or Lincoln and get it from your supplier who will have parts for it. If you don't then this is way to much money to spend on what is just another overseas disposable welder. I never used the tig function even though I spent the extra money on the foot pedal it doesn't come with. What makes this welder a useless shop decoration is the thing it will get most used for (mig) relies on a plastic wire feed ferrule to keep the gas in and the wire feeding straight of the roller and out to the gun. The one its shipped with is good for .030 and bigger and the extra it comes with is for the .023 wire. The first time I had to do some sheet metal work and had to take out the plastic birthday cake (with a single candle) of frustration it broke because it was so stuck in I bent the "candle" when it came out and it just snapped off when I tried to straighten it. Guess what part you only get 1 of they discontinued and you will never find an internet dealer to locate for you and unless you live in a real big town and have a lot of time on your hands you wont find a local dealer that has any insight on parts. I got the run arround from ESAB just trying to find the part number for whatever superceeded the original part so someone could order it for me as the first "dealer" just canceled the order after a few months and refunded my money instead of getting or finding one. ESAB wont talk to little peons like us we have to look for dealer who will do all the leg work for a couple of dollar part they might make ten cents on. Eventually they got me a service tech who looked up the cross reference number and I found another dealer who could order the part and after 3 months of waiting they sent me half the quantity I ordered of something completely wrong. I am so done with ESAB, I love the welder when it works, but without the part the machine is almost useless... I could spend a month learning how to 3d print my own or I could sell this thing and just buy a cheap import off here or whatever they have now at the Harbor Freight and be a lot less angry when it breaks and parts aren't available. If you want a quality machine with parts availability then consider whatever brand your local welding shop has and can get parts for. When it worked it was a great machine but some of the design does not match the price tag when it comes to quality and the lack of availability of cheap consumable parts is its downfall.

Junk
Esab is junk . They work long enough to make it through the 3 year warranty then the cheap Chinese parts fail and it's more expensive to fix than buy another. Had an esab repair man tell me you may as well buy a yes welder and save the money because the components are the same .
