Nano Protein Skimmer for Saltwater Aquariums, DC Pinwheel Pump for 30 Gals Fish Tank, Hang On, Internal, Not for Rimmed Tank

The skimmer is working well on my Fluval Flex 32.5 gallon tank. It fits with room to spare in the center pump compartment between the two filter compartments. It took a few days to "break in" and some tweaking to get it operating well, but it's removing lots of nasty skimmate now. While my opinion is overall very favorable, skimmers in general can be tricky to adjust, and this one is no different. I'm summarize the good and not so good:Good:-Materials and build quality seem very good, especially for only $60.-You can't beat the $60 price. Most nano skimmers are easily 2X, 3X or even 4X more expensive.-It's small and fits easily in the my Fluval Flex 32.5 gallon all-in-one (AIO) tank.-Once adjusted, it's pretty stable and consistently generates skimmate.-It's quiet. I don't notice any additional noise above and beyond my return pump and powerheads.-It's easy to adjust the outside height of the water, assuming you keep your water level consistent in the tank.Not so good:-The inside water column height is adjusted by rotating the inner portion of the skimmer body. It turns very easily and it's extremely sensitive to the position. That means you can easily bump it out of adjustment and the skimmer either won't skim or will overflow.-The skimmate tends to be on the "wet" side, meaning that it doesn't produce a real concentrated skimmate. This might be partly due to the sensitivity of the inner water height adjustment. I'm ok with it because a wet skimmate is removing more, but it also means it is filling up faster. I need to empty the cup every day or two.-Emptying the cup is a pain. There's a drain port and even a tube with an inline valve to connect to the port. But good luck using it without rotating the skimmer out of adjustment. I overflowed a full skimmer cup back into the tank before giving up on that. The alternative is to remove the whole inner body of the skimmer and dump and rinse it. The cup isn't removable by itself for purposes of emptying it. That means you need to readjust the rotation of the cup to optimize the inner water height every time you empty it. It's not great, but you quickly learn the approximate rotation and can get it back quickly.My wish list:-I wish that there was a way to lock the rotation once you have it adjusted.-A variable DC pump drive might reduce the need to tweak the inner water height , but the pump provided is a single-speed DC pump.-An inline switch near the skimmer on the power cord would be helpful

So far it’s been 1 week this skimmer is quiet , nice skim with in days fits in back of tank no issues

I’ve had this skimmer for a month now on my innovative marine 15 gallon cube, and it’s been great. It took about a week to break in, and has been collecting very well. It fits easily in the 2nd chamber, and is easy to adjust as needed. My only complaints are that the air intake makes a kind of annoying whistling sound, and the water level adjustment is very sensitive. Overall a great product for the price.

Really nice quality product. Beautiful packaging job, everting arrived safely. Directions were simple for setup. Fits perfectly in the chamber and skims nicely. Adjustment takes a bit of time, and I’m still tweaking it to find the perfect spot for it to not overflow overnight but otherwise it’s skimming as well as one much larger than it would be doing. And best of all it’s silent. I hear an air pump from a different aquarium over this.definitely will be going with one of the larger ones for my bigger tank.

The unit looked nice just missing the lid and the part to hold it to the tank , rendering it useless to me

I've had this running for about two weeks now and it's working great. Fits perfectly in the Innovative Marine 20 and 25 back chamber and started pulling industrial grade skimmate after about 4 days. It is also extremely quiet and easy to dial in by twisting the cup.

Works like a charm going in couple months now
