Great, it is crystal clear granules with a slightly sweet taste. Love it

My sister told me that this sweetener is ussed in sugarless gum. It kills bacteria that gets in gums. She uses it when brushing her teeth. A filling I have tends to swell my gums as food gets stuck. I chew gum with this sweetner or just rub some in my mouth.

This product does not have an after taste. Will continue to use it daily.

I "pull" or swish with Xylitol after all meals for up to 5 minutes and don't rinse after. I read this online: "Xylitol has properties that make it indigestible to bacteria, which decreases the number of bacteria with negative effects and reduces the instances of cavities.Xylitol raises the pH of the mouth, creating an alkaline oral environment which limits the growth of bacteria.Xylitol creates higher calcium levels in saliva which contributes to the production of enamel."Warning: Xylitol can be fatal to dogs so I keep the bag in a closed container in the freezer to prevent a tragic mistake.

I didn't know there was a sugar free sweetener that did not have an after taste. Not only does it taste good, it also has the texture of granulated sugar.

UPDATE 10/27/2024: I am updating my review after pouring the xylitol out of its original package and into a ziploc bag. The offensive smell went away from the sugar within the hour after being removed from its original packaging. It took a bit longer for the smell to leave the bag, so I deduce that the packaging is the culprit. I felt a bit more confident in trying it after this (experiment?) and it performed as the other xylitol product I previously used. The sellers may consider checking their current packaging to pinpoint what is causing it to emit this chemical smell and what potential affect it may be having on their product.Upon opening this product, I immediately noticed that it has an overwhelming chemical scent similar to that of nail polish. I suspect that may be why it's so affordably priced. My usual birch xylitol product is no longer in stock at Amazon, so I ordered this one instead. Keep in mind, it's non-returnable. Personally, I would be hesitant to purchase Herbaila Xylitol brand again mainly because of the offensive chemical smell!

I got this to add a bit to my diet as it has been proven to help keep teeth and gums healthy. The flavor is wonderfully sweet; the granules dissolve well. The impact on blood sugar is way less than regular sugar (or honey, agave...).
