Made my face look like an oil slick and pilled like crazy
I really wanted to love this sunscreen and this brand but I don’t and I’m so bummed. I prefer mineral sunscreens due to some skin sensitivity. A light weight mineral SPF 50 is my dream. Try as I might, this would not sit nicely on top of skincare or underneath makeup. I tried less skincare, I tried very light makeup to almost no makeup but this sunscreen would just pill and make a mess on my face. I could not wait to wash it off at the end of the day. For my normal skin, this sunscreen gave me the look of an oil slick on my face. I tried a light dusting of powder, I tried a heavier layer of powder but nope, looked like I just left my 8 hour job of Fry Girl at McDonald’s. I think this could work for someone that has dry to very dry skin, who doesn’t wear any skincare and just applies this onto bare skin and likes a very dewy look. This is fine for the back of my hands but I won’t use this on my face.Ps. The dropper is also super messy and tricky if you are trying dip in and out with one hand get the proper amount to achieve an SPF of 50. For this price tag, they could have put a pump on this to solve this.

A mixed bag, but vegan, reef-safe, AND cruelty-free!
I have mixed feelings about this sunscreen, as I do most sunscreens. This one is very runny, so you have to be extra vigilant during application. It was also on the oily side. Again, an issue you'll likely run into with most sunscreens. Unfortunately, it did pill under other products. This milky sunscreen is part serum and boasts a plumping effect. I do love that it is EWG certified, Vegan, cruelty-free and reef friendly. I also need a higher level of protection, so the 50 spf is great for me.

Effective Sunscreen - but Usage May Vary Depending Upon Skintype and Application Area
This is one of my more complicated reviews. I'm reviewing my skin after using this sunscreen milk for the third day in a row, while having to reapply it because I spent many hours outdoors. This sunscreen, hands down, delivers upon its promise of being plumping. It has also proven to be very effective in protecting my skin when it was directly exposed to sunlight - during the time of day when UV was the highest, and when I was walking on the beach.Having said that? This was one of the oiliest-feeling sunscreens I've ever used. Which is interesting because there's actually no oil in the product. Regardless of the amount of time I shook the bottle, or how much I rubbed the product into my skin - it was simply very oily in feeling and in appearance. Was it effective? Absolutely. Was it calming to my skin when I wore it while being directly exposed to the sun for hours? Yes. Was I able to reapply layers as needed? Yes.But was it a tricky sunscreen to use? Yes.I also noticed that this left a purple cast on my skin. I'm used to most sunscreens leaving a white cast, unless those products specifically call out that they're not going to produce that effect. But using this sunscreen milk was the first time that I saw a purple cast on my skin. While it eventually sunk into my skin, it didn't work as a facial sunscreen because I had to use too many additional products to cancel out the cast. But I made the initial mistake of using this on my face and neck, and it was too heavy in that capacity. Using it on my legs, arms, hands, and feet gave me better results.Perhaps I'll be able to use this on my face during the cooler months when I still need to protect my skin from the sun. But for now, during the last weeks of summer when the temperature is over 85 degrees Fahrenheit, and there's a high level of humidity? This sunscreen unfortunately didn't work well with my face. But it's been a powerhouse on other areas of my skin To the point where I'll likely purchase a body sunscreen from this brand, as it's proven its effectiveness.

Excellent sunscreen & moisturizer!
The Solara Suncare Sunscreen Milk is not only a silky sunscreen but an amazing skin moisturizer. The consistency is a watery milky liquid that is quickly absorbed into the skin. Although it contains zinc oxide, there is no white residue on the skin after application. I applied it to my face and neck area, and also to my hands and forearms. The skin on my forearms has a lot of sun damage from years in the sun, and they look very crepey. I was amazed how the sunscreen diminished the crepiness and actually gave my skin a very plumped up look. I detected no scent from this product, nor did it feel sticky. It did give the areas where I applied the sunscreen an iridescent and glowing appearance. The directions for this product suggest using a water-resistant sunscreen with the Solara Suncara milk if swimming or sweating. I would recommend this product to provide skin protection whenever you intend on spending time in the sun. In my own experience after a few hours in the sun, I had no signs of a sunburn or a feeling of burning or tightness. Because this is such a pricey product, many people might not be able to afford it. However, it is a 5-star product that works as advertised.

Too costly for me
At over $50 an ounce this is incredibly expensive for what it is. I know that it is supposed to also act as a peptide cream, but combining the two in this form doesn't work for my face. The sunscreen is very thin and oily which actually upsets my skin. A little goes a long way due to how thin it is.

Effective and easy to apply
It comes in a dropper bottle, and the "milk" is very runny and easy to apply, so you don't actually need to use more than a few drops each time. No bad smell, and as a big bonus, it's reef safe, so you can rest easy using it.

Thick and Oily
This sunscreen is way more thick and oily so be prepared to only use a little bit to evenly coat your skin! Aside from that it smells great and works as intended in protecting your face
