The Scuf NOMAD is my first mobile gaming controller. I usually play video games on my Xbox Series S, but I wanted something that I could use to play video games with while I was traveling or when I needed to waste some time.I spent much time researching every mobile gaming controller on the market, such as the Backbone, and GameSir controller before finally settling with the Scuf NOMAD. I wanted Bluetooth and not a wired connection because I knew that having a wired connection meant a faster drain on my phone's battery. Although this is a deal breaker for some people, there isn't a noticeable delay. However, I will admit that there have been some instances (not often) where the controller randomly starts to have input lag. This usually happens during long playing sessions. I'm sure this is something that can be improved upon and fixed in the future with software updates.With the Scuf NOMAD being wireless, it uses its internal battery. When looking at reviews online, I didn't see any that mentioned how long it would take to charge the battery. However, from my experience, it only takes about an hour or so until it reaches full battery which is very impressive knowing that it can give up to 16 hours of battery life.When it comes to the actual physical build and feel of the Scuf NOMAD, it feels very premium and durable. The buttons, d-pad, triggers, bumpers, and joysticks are very responsible and I have had no durability issues with them. The iPhone 14/15 adapter is also very helpful and does not make my iPhone feel loose when playing games. (Note: the games I tend to play with my Scuf NOMAD are PSP emulator games, Minecraft, and Xbox Cloud Gaming/Xbox Remote Play.)The Scuf NOMAD companion app is also close to perfection. It can be utilized as a game hub launcher where you can save your favorite games, while also being able to discover new games to play. They also recently added a feature where you can directly add your IOS games to the launcher if they aren't already listed in the companion app.In conclusion, you cannot go wrong with this mobile controller. It is sleek and durable, and the companion app (WHICH IS FREE!!!) makes the experience 100x better.

I am a person who does most of their gaming on a handled device. Usually I am switching between the Steam Deck and the Nintendo Switch depending on what new releases have come out for the respective platform. When it comes to mobile gaming, that is actually where I play most of my first person shooters. It's really easy to pick up my phone, play a quick call of duty match and then go about my day. Previously I did this on the backbone, but after being a bit disgruntled with it I did some research and found my way to the NOMAD which is what I will now be using for all of my mobile gaming!What I love most about the NOMAD is it feels like a legit controller. As a now previous backbone owner, my main problem with it was that it felt like you were attaching tiny joycons to your phone. The NOMAD has far better ergonomics with the controller grip, bigger and better thumbsticks, and even customizable rear paddles. Sure, the NOMAD is a tiny bit heavier than the backbone but that is a tradeoff I am more than willing to make because of how much better it feels. While you also do need to charge the NOMAD separately from your phone, this has not been an issue at all for me because my phone battery drains faster than the NOMAD battery. The USB C charging allows me to hare chargers way easier too, which is great.I also want to talk about just how much customization the NOMAD allows for. The app lets you customize things like thumbstick sensitivity, dead zones, and trigger behavior. If you play any first person shooters you should be setting up controller profiles for each one. It's really easy, and gives you a serious advantage over people who are using other mobile controllers. Anyone still using just their touchscreen will automatically have 0 chance of competing with you as well. I play a lot of call of duty and getting 20+ kill streaks is an absolute breeze. Everyone who is on my team always wants to group up with me when the game is over too. I've even picked up some new non-FPS games I had played on the switch that suffered because of the joycons. The feel of the NOMAD made those experiences so much better.Overall, if you are looking for a new mobile controller and you have an iPhone, you absolutely cannot go wrong with the NOMAD.

Not the product I was hoping it was. After watching many reviews on this controller I was expecting it to be something that would make me want to game more on my phone than I do on my iPad but in all honesty all it did was remind me why I prefer mobile gaming on my iPad instead. I have big hands so the controller in hand just feels a bit small. The paddles on back are nicely placed but require too much force to activate in order for them to be reliable. The buttons and D-pad, while responsive, still feel way too small especially for people with bigger hands like mine. I also got this product because I was intrigued by the analog sticks being symmetrical and not asymmetrical like all other options I’ve seen, but it turned out to not be what I wanted. The overall build quality of the controller is solid I will give it that, it does not feel like it was cheaply made, but it does not feel like it was made for people with bigger hands. Also I don’t prefer a mobile controller to be wireless, I know that was my choice but this controller has made me realize that having a direct connection for almost any kind of telescopic mobile controller is superior, the bluetooth connectivity for me just feel super laggy and delayed in response. Would have much preferred there to be a USB-C port to plug into.

Quality: 5/5The quality of the materials is very high, and the controller feels very nice to the touch, has a decent weight to it, all of the buttons feel nice to press, and the joysticks are very smooth and responsive. Zero perceived latency with the Bluetooth connection, and the app is pretty niceErgonomics: 3/5For me, the controller is simply too small to be comfortable, and the face buttons are in a very uncomfortable position for me. My hand hurt after playing for about 30 minutes. I have pretty large hands, and I think that this controller would benefit greatly from a but more space to grip at the bottom, but I do understand that would take away from the portability of the device. The symmetrical joysticks being at the higher position would make sense and be very, very comfortable for FPS games, but I don't play many, if any, of those. I mostly play action RPG's so the face buttons being more easily reachable is a higher priority for me.Overall, I think that the controller is very nice, but it's just not for me. If I played exclusively FPS games, it would probably be a 5/5 for me.

I knew the build quality for this controller would be much better than the Backbone as I have owned 2 Scuf Xbox controllers. It feels so nice in your hands. The grips are perfect, I love that it is Bluetooth. Makes it easy to pop your phone in and out. The battery life on it is amazing. The app is super simple and effective. I haven’t learned how to play Xbox or PlayStation games on it yet, but love playing Call of Duty Mobile on it. It’s a great deal and high quality controller. Thank you SCUF!

I doubt theyre even working on android support. You'd think a Bluetooth controller would just work with anything but all the controls are inverted and completely unusable and theres not a single app that can remap the controls so this controller is dead in the water for me, just gotta wait for android support to never come yay...

I’m obsessed with my Scuf Nomad! This thing has taken my mobile gaming experience to a whole new level. I'm mostly using it for Marvel Rivals, and it's a total game-changer. The controls are ridiculously responsive, and the design is super comfy to hold.I previously used the Backbone one, but the Scuf Nomad is hands-down better. The difference in quality is noticeable, and I'm so glad I made the upgrade.If you're looking for a solid phone controller for mobile gaming, look no further than the Scuf Nomad. This is an amazing controller my only issue is the game and relay delays when you connect another Bluetooth device.

First thing I want to say is that I got a sizeable deal on this off of Amazon Resale/Warehouse Deals, so the price I paid may influence my feelings a bit here as I paid something like $33 for it, instead of the list price. That said, I will review this as a product in general.It ONLY works for iphone. So Android users stay away and don't bother with this.I am very pleased with the Nomad. I was looking for something to play games on Delta Emulator with as I found the touch screen controls to be a bit annoying and useless for games that required a bit more response or need more button inputs (Ie. Ocarina of Time) or long periods of holding the directional buttons in a certain way (ie. Pokemon). It took me a bit of trial and error to get the device to work with my iphone, but eventually it did connect and it worked perfectly.I absolutely love this thing and it's design. It feels good in your hands and it feels well made. The buttons and sticks are nice to use (they give you a second set of sticks, if you want to swap them out). I have experienced no-lag with the Nomad, but again, I just use it to play emulated games on Delta. Other apps and games may vary.So far, so good. I would recommend this. This would also be a good gift idea for someone who likes to play a lot of games their iphone.

Great Ergonomic Controller with an Excellent All-in-One AppI purchased the SCUF Nomad Mobile Controller from Amazon in February 2026, and overall I’m very impressed with it.One of my main reasons for choosing the Nomad was the companion app, and SCUF absolutely delivered here. The app lets me combine all my PS5 Remote Play games, Apple Arcade, Delta emulator and PSP games in one place, which makes launching and managing games incredibly convenient.In terms of hardware, the controller is very ergonomic and extremely comfortable, even during long gaming sessions. The grip, button placement, and overall build quality feel premium.The only reason I’m giving 4.5 stars instead of 5 is because it does not support pass-through charging. Being able to charge the phone while gaming would have made this controller perfect.That said, I picked it up at a discount, so I really can’t complain about the price at all. For the value I got, this controller delivers a great overall experience.If you’re looking for a comfortable mobile controller with a unified gaming app on iOS , the SCUF Nomad is definitely worth considering.
