Great value, excellent quality and better than I expected
I have an old engine drive welder generator that is great for stick welding and not much else. I wanted to make it a TIG welder too. This torch setup worked perfectly. All I did was run a argon line to the adapter, plugged the stinger lead into negative, bite the electrode holder onto the adapter (you don't have to bolt it anywhere or buy new plug connectors using this method), then use the ground as normal plugged into the positive. Just turn on the gas, touch the electrode to the metal, engine kicks the rpm's up and you have a nice arc on your TIG torch. I ran it for an hour or so between 60 and 120 amps and the torch barely got warm, certainly not hot. I should have gotten this rig years ago. The flex head flexes very easily and glad I spent a few extra dollars for that feature. The gas valve is smooth too, no issues there. One thing, don't get your heart set on a free gift - I didn't get one either! Doesn't matter, I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Good Tig torch...Reasonable
I purchased this Tig torch because I needed one for my new 3-in-1 welder. I contacted several sources to discuss the different options available and finally settled on a 3rd party torch rather than the one offered by my welder manufacturer. Some of the criteria I used included: First, I wanted a complete torch (I didn't want to have to put one together from parts..). Second, I wanted a flex-head torch with a gas control valve. Third, I wanted a 26 series torch to carry the extra amperage available from my welder. Fourth, I wanted a torch with only one cable (the power and the gas use the same one..). I looked around and found quite a few that met those criteria, but finally decided on this one. I compared torch against torch and this one had everything I wanted and was a reasonable price. I don't necessarily go for the cheapest product...I try to evaluate what I am getting and purchase the best value and I think this is it.The torch shipped promptly and with all components and arrived in perfect condition. It looked good and went from box to welder with no issues. I purchased some additional consumable parts, and they all fit and worked perfectly. For those who don't know, the collets, cups, insulators, collet bodies, etc. are all interchangeable between manufacturers. They all build to a common standard so any manufacturers product will fit on any torch (AS LONG AS THE SERIES IS THE SAME!! ie..series 17 or series 20, or series 26...). The torch fired up perfectly and worked well. It did not overheat and was reasonably comfortable to use. It carries all the amperage my welder will supply and a month after purchase it continues to function well. (Note: This is a 200 amp torch. If your welder only puts out 120 or 140 or 150 amps, then you should probably use a 17 series torch which is rated at 150 amps). In retrospect, the only things that bother me are related to the power rating of the torch (which I specifically chose..). The torch is a little heavy, the cable is a little stiff, and the flex head is not terribly flexible. All of these things are really just a function of the torch being rated at 200 amps, so I accept them for what they are....a necessary trade-off.So, four stars for a really good product. If the torch were just a LITTLE more flexible...it would definitely get five stars.

A great kit to try TIG welding with your DC arc welding machine.
An excellent and good quality complete kit to turn your DC arc welder into a low-buck lift start TIG machine. All you need to add is an Argon bottle and regulator and some tungsten electrodes and your in business.
