Nice easy rice add-in for meals when you don't want to break out the rice cooker
Normally we have a bunch of pre-cooked rice or noodles (Asian or Italian) ready to go to mix in with any meal we've made to help pad it out and make it more filling beyond the meat and veggie elements involved. Occasionally, however, we'll find ourselves at lunchtime or dinnertime with none ready to go and lacking the energy/willpower to whip up a batch for one meal. That's when a microwave-able pack of rice like this is invaluable. We've tried other brands (Ashoka, for one) of instant biryani seasoned rice, and this was about on par with that. Obviously they're nowhere near as good as a freshly cooked pot of well-seasoned biryani, but for something coming out of a microwaved bag pre-seasoned the texture and flavor are enough that for the price (12 servings for $25, at the time of review) it's hard to find much fault with it as a quick and easy meal supplement.Mix a cooked vegetable medley and a seasoned protein into one of these and you've got a great, filling meal without having to spend too much time on prep. The bags of rice cook in 90 seconds and contain at least two servings. If you've cooked up a bunch of veggies and protein you could potentially stretch this to 3-servings per bag, but for us 2 was right on the money. I could probably eat one of these in a single sitting if I ate just this, but I'd be pretty full if there was anything else mixed in.***Overall Value***Similar brands that sell 6-packs like this one run the gamut value-wise. You can find some cheaper by about $10 or more expensive by $10 and they're all roughly the same in terms of what you get per box.

Easy and convenient to prepare, lots of flavor, soft texture
My husband LOVES Indian food. It's a hit or miss for me. I like some Indian cuisine but since I'm such a spicy food wimp, most of it is too spicy for me. LOL Combine an easy to microwave product with one of my husband's favorite Indian dishes (biryani) and you have a win win in our household! You get six 7.05 oz microwavable rice pouches. While they aren't super big, they are still plenty filling for a light lunch or even as a side dish to a larger meal.Preparation is super quick and easy - slit the top of the package to vent the rice, place upright in the microwave and heat for 90 seconds, let cool for a minute or two and enjoy. That's it! I would recommend stirring the rice halfway through just to break it up and to better distribute the heat. If you don't like cooking in the microwave, you could definitely prepare it on the stovetop, too.As for the flavor, my husband enjoyed it. He thought it had a good amount of spices and flavor for a microwavable rice. The ginger and clove flavors really come through. It is on the milder side. I didn't even find it to be spicy and I'm a mega wimp when it comes to spicy food! He is used to having biryani with lamb or chicken so he paired this with his choice of protein (mainly chicken) and a dash of his favorite spicy sauce. The rice itself was very tender and soft. Some microwavable rice like this tastes dried out and hard in texture. That wasn't the case with this! It might be a bit mushy for some people's preferences. Preparing on the stovetop might make it easier for you to achieve the desired firmness as you can taste test a lot easier than you can when cooking in the microwave.

Tasty!
Truly Indian Bombay Biryani Rice 6-Pack | Long-Grain, Aged Basmati Rice | Authentic Traditional Indian Rice Dishes Made With Locally Grown Ingredients | Ready to Eat, Vegan, Microwaveable Meal - This biryani is quite tasty. It has a similar taste to Berbere. I really didn't expect it to be as good as it is. The portion is small. Great for a side item for a single person or a quick meal for a small eater. It says to cook 90 seconds in the microwave. That got most of it hot, but with our microwave, a full 2 minutes is better to get everything hot. The boxes come in a nice tray that can be set inside your pantry and keeps them in place. Very nice for keeping the pantry organized.

It's okay
These quick rice packages turned out to be a slight disappointment. First of all, the recommended microwave time seems to be meant for super weak units, if you have a modern microwave of ~1000W or more you'll want to reduce the time or it'll burn. That said, the rice has a nice texture and is sticky and glutinous, but the flavor is really lacking. If you're eating these by themselves you'll need to add some spices to get it into an acceptable state, but I think these are best used as a bed for something more flavorful like dal or paneer, where the rice's lack of distinct flavor is not a hindrance.

I love the flavor, but not the texture
This is really convenient for a quick meal. Simply cut the corner of the pouch, place it in the microwave for 90 seconds, let it rest for 1 minute, then serve. You can add your favorite protein to complete or your meal, or simply serve as-is, for 100% vegetarian option.I enjoy the aroma and flavors from the Indian spices, but the texture was a little "mushy". That said, I have not found any instant rice that gets the texture correct, and honestly, I'm not familiar enough with this style of rice to know if this texture is correct or not.If you're looking for an instant Indian rice dish, this is worth a try.

This is actually very tasty, and I liked it a lot.
This rice is incredibly easy to make and tastes surprisingly good. I actually liked it a lot. We don't eat a lot of rice, and try to keep our portions down so my husband and I were able to split a single pouch. The normal portion is probably perfect for one to two people but families may require a couple of pouches with a meal. Prep was simple and easy with no mess or clean up. Honestly, if you are looking for just a simple, tasty side dish, and this is a great, flavorful rice that takes little time. An easy option for me to recommend.
