10/10
These rods are very good, and I really liked their packaging, their hardness is accurate in 10 units, without a doubt a good purchase.

Very bright reeds, great quality!
I've been really happy with these reeds. They produce a bright tone, seem to be pretty sturdy and haven't had an issue yet. Price wise, they're a little more expensive than cheaper reeds I've used but the quality seems to be on point!

Very good sound
I get good sound from these reeds and so far they last a while. They don't chip early and seem to be quality reeds. I generally buy another brand but these are better priced and seem to have the same quality so debating switching to these.

Good average reeds
Overall these are good reeds, I don't know if organic really means anything since I think all reeds meet this description. They seem to be similar quality to other D'Addario products, meaning if you can find others for a cheaper price you should probably just go with those. They all seem to have similar sound and quality.

Nice quality reeds
I was given a sax for Yule, I've never played before, but literally EVERYONE told me to just toss the reeds that came with it in the trash and get some better ones - the reeds that came with my sax were, indeed, very terrible. These are much better! Good sound quality, I think - again, I am a complete noob with nothing to compare to other than the terrible reeds (I did try using ONE of them when I first opened my gift, haha).

Great alto sax reeds
I am an intermediate alto saxophone player, and these reeds are great. I love that they are organic, all natural, and packaged without plastic. The tone and feel of them is great while playing also. I definitely recommend these reeds and will continue to purchase.

Good reeds
I needed new reeds for the one month a year that I practice and then play with an organized group. These are perfect as they were easy to prep and keep nice, also giving a quality tone at louder volumes.

Terrible Reeds
I have been playing sax for over 40 years, and I have tried hundreds of different reeds. I cannot recommend this reed to beginners, intermediate, or professional players. Its equally bad for everyone.I saw a box of these at a really good price recently, and thought I would give them a try. I thought that, because of the D'Addario name, that they would at least be decent, but let's face it, this is nothing but a low quality Rico, renamed. I'm glad there is a return policy, because these are really, really poor reeds.I never could get a good sound out of them. They seem thick in the middle, and definitely dead, tone- wise. I never really felt that this reed ever broke in properly, in spite of repeated soakings and playing attempts. Not to pile on, but what exactly makes this reed organic? The fact this it is made from cane, just like every other cane reed? Certainly not the plastic wrap or the protective plastic holder each reed comes in. The organic label just makes me think that their marketing team was over-reaching and overcompensating on this one.It went back to the seller. Sorry, this one is a hard PASS.

Great reeds, ECO friendly but expensive
I usually play a strength 3 Reed so was a bit apprehensive about trying a whole box of 2.5s.However I put one of these on and it sang beautifully. Easy to tongue a low Bb at ppp but equally holds its own on top F#. The attack is good and precise but I found it squeaks on occasions. This will be easy to adjust and I can always clip the tip to add a bit of strength. I played whole evening with good dynamics and a clear tone but feel the Reed will lot last that long.As well as a clear tone, I also felt like I had a clear conscience and I never consider that bamboo was grown using pesticides, herbicides and synthetic fertiliser. I just though naively that bamboo was naturally organic. So it’s admirable that D’addario claim these to be the first certified organic reed and it does make you feel more responsible as a saxophonist. However these reeds come at a price. 50% more than the non organic Reserve reeds to be exact and although I haven’t compared, I bet they play exactly the same.So no real incentive other than ones conscience to go organic and does it really cost 40% more to make these reeds?I like also that these reeds have no markings on the mouthpiece side which makes them lie flatter on the mouthpiece. I tend to shave the back side with my reedgeek anyway but I somehow feel the back should be totally flat for a better seal. Finally I like that they come in cardboard sleeves (no plastic) but they are individually wrapped with plastic film. I’m not sure if this is necessary. Remember when reeds cam in boxes with three parallel loose reeds separated by paper packing from the next three?Overall opinion is yes these are very nice reeds but the jury is out in whether the cost justifies the fact they are organic.
