Easiest sharpener I've used
This is the nicest and easiest to use knife and scissor sharpener I've used. With scissors, I work my way through the first slot, second, third and finally de-burr on the ceramic last slot and they come out extremely sharp every time.I've used roller hardened steel disk sharpener's before and they can tend to leave burs, so this having all 4 steps is wonderful. For knives, I've had to take a few passes to get it really sharp, as one or two passes wasn't enough, but eventually it gets them very sharp as well.If needed, you can finish on a traditional sharpening rod to hone the blade as needed, but I have now sharpened all my main kitchen knives over the last month with this sharpener and it's more than adequate for 99% of cooking scenarios. The functionality of being able to also sharpen scissors is really nice, as they use such a different blade angle I've just had to try and grind them sharp in the past until I got this sharpener.Rubber base is amazing and holds very well on the counter surface to give you a steady pull. Really just an all around great sharpener! 5/5

Seems like a good knife sharpener
I got this to use with our kitchen knives, which have been getting rather dull.I like the variety of options and the ease of use. It seems like a good quality knife sharpener and works well.

Quite a bit larger than I thought it would be. Will take up a lot of drawer space.
So first off this is pretty large, about 10" long and fairly heavy.I guess that is good for stability when you are sharpening but it will take up a lot of drawer space. One star off for that tho. I don't think it needed to be this large or take up so much space. My wet stone is half the size.Has as slot for scissor sharpening which is nice, haven't tried that one yet.The other three slots get progressively finer in cut so you start with one and work your way up till you get a good edge.I tried three knives from the drawer and it took many strokes to get the first slot/stones to start cutting. I'm guessing my knives were far from the angle expected by the stones as they have just been hand sharpened forever and were probably pretty dull to start.Once I got a good cut from the first slot all the way down the blades I went on to the second and third slots to finer hone the edges.I would say it worked ok. I've gotten them sharper with a stone by hand for for quick work this will do.Just expect to have to work a while to get the angle to match on that first slot.I wouldn't call this a professional edge maker but for casual home kitchen work it will do.I'm giving it 4 starts but it really should be 3.5 IMO.

The knife sharpener for the rest of us!
(There are plenty of over-engineered knife sharpeners out there with precise angle options that take forever to sharpen a knife. On the other end of the spectrum we have a honing steel that require significant skill to keep the angle constant.)A refreshing alternative is this gadget that takes all the guesswork out of sharpening knives. The active parts seem to have an opening of maybe around 40 degrees (guessing), giving a 20 degree angle on each side, which is a perfectly good angle, but should probably be mentioned in the description. At over half a pound, this sharpener feels very solid, is easy to hold with the generous grip, and even has rubberized surfaces where we hold it against the table, making it easy to use securely and without slipping. It is obviously designed for right-handed people that hold the sharpener with the left hand and use the right hand to hold the knife. This way we can see the reference numbers that mark the slots. Fortunately, the knife tools are symmetric and can easily be used from the other side with the hands swapped, making the 10-15% of left handed people happy too. This is not true for the scissors slot. As you can see from the picture, sharpening scissors will only work correctly if we hold the scissors with the right hand. This should be mentioned in the instructions. There is no manual. All the instructions are printed on the outside of the box and we need to remember what slots 2, 3, or 4 actually are. There is no slot marked with a "1", that's for the scissors instead. For the English market, it would have been more useful to label the slots vertically as "course", "fine", etc. on both sides of the device. Well, I am nitpicking. It is easy and quite obvious to use and chances are that we can discard the box and still remember how to use it.Overall, a well designed, easy to hold, and easy to use knife sharpener that belong in every kitchen! Love it!

Effective, but Requires Practice for Consistent Sharpening
This 4-in-1 sharpener offers a convenient way to sharpen kitchen knives and scissors at home. The multiple stages are a nice idea, and the instructions are clear. However, it takes some practice to get a consistent angle, especially with longer knives. The results are good for everyday sharpness, but it may not be ideal for those who need razor-sharp precision.
