I use sheet ABS all the time in my shop to make jigs, boxes and drawer dividers. I like it because it's easy to work, inexpensive, tough, difficult to shatter and can be cemented using black ABS cement from the plumbing section at the hardware store. This quarter-inch thickness has enough rigidity to support a moderate amount of weight, and at 1/4" in width you also have enough surface to apply cement for a strong bond.Like all ABS sheets I have ever shopped for, these have a pebbled texture on one side and a smooth glossy texture on the other. I always use it with the textured side out because the smooth side always seems to be scuffed up. The manufacturer of these sheets however ships them with a protective film on the smooth side, so when you receive it, it will be perfect--nice enough to use with the glossy side facing out if you need to. That was an unexpected surprise.These are priced at less than a quarter of what is charged at my plastics supplier, so it's worth buying the pack just to have on hand for that next project.

Sometimes it is hard to find the right kind of material for my projects. If you'll be bonding dissimilar materials you need to specify the type of materials you'll be using to verify they are compatible. I prefer to bond the same types of substrates to make sure there are no questions about gluing them together. ABS is an inexpensive material that exhibits really good qualities so I use it when I can. These 1/4 inch ABS plates are perfect for me. One side is textured and the opposite side is very smooth so you can decide which is better for you. The smooth side has a thin, protective sheet that can be removed just before use to prevent any contamination. The material is very good quality, packaged to prevent damage with corner protectors, and comes in a package of (2) 12 x 12 sheets. Good value product.

I have never seen an ABS sheet this thick before. I'm used to using the 1/8" sheets and gluing up if I need a thicker piece but this would fit the bill perfectly. Its just a hair under 1/4" thick but thats ok and it will fit into a 1/4" slot to fitting is easy. Since this is so thick you can't cut like thinner sheets by scoring with a knife and snapping it. you would be better of using a saw to cut. This is perfect for when you need a really rigid surface as there is less flex then thinner sheets. Drilling and cutting seems to be on par with other ABS products, so no surprises there.One side is pebble textured but it has a glossy finish that is not matt like other ABS sheets. The other side is smooth and glossy but you can see some artifacts in the density of the material so its not mirror like and perfectly smooth. I guess you could sand and polish if you need a mirror like finish. The smooth side has a peel away sheet to protect while handling and fabricating your piece.I'm please with this ABS and it will come in handy.

Nice quality ABS plastic.Texturing is very even height and an non repeating texturing application.Opposite side is smooth gloss finish, protective layer of film on this side,Thickness is 0.233" (5.91mm)Corners are protected with guards on each corner.All edges are clean cuts.This will be used to construct a 1/8 scale model of a steam powered setting.

I thought I could get away with a box cutter like on my thinner ABS: no (though it was helpful in scoring the piece). Ultimately had to bother neighbor and ask to use his table saw (the shame!); a 60T blade seemed effective at quickly and cleanly cutting. I needed to cut square holes into the piece, too, and we had a shared neural lapse here; hopefully you come up with a better solution than us, because the interior cuts I made are so ugly I wouldn't dare ruin the manufacturer's day by posting pictures of them; drilling in at the corners, putting the piece in a vice, and then using a jigsaw probably would've been a better approach. I may feel ashamed enough soon to redo it; I know the product's good.Drilling holes in for the bolts went much smoother, and now I have the vent grate I wanted with fans secured onto it to continually move air through the floors of the house with without engaging the whole central air system. Nice!

I got the biggest size available so there would be enough material to cut to size to put on some of my metal rack shelves that smaller items were wonky on. The plastic is thick and sturdy but not too thick to take up any valuable storage room.I’d definitely order again for more shelves or other odd projects.

The sheets are fine and I have no quality issues with them. To me the price seems a bit high for 1/4" ABS (8 sq foot total) but just my opinion.

Wow, these things are big. 24"x24" and 1/4" thick is a lot of plastic. I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to use these for, but I know it will be sturdy. Came packaged well, no nicks or cracks.
