Strong but loud
I'm returning mine. It is a great strong (about the same push as a 3 hp outboard) motor, but it is super loud (I think even louder than a newer gas powered 4 stroke motor). I ran it on an aluminum 12' v jon boat, and even in the wind and chop, it pushed that boat great. I used 4-power queen lifepo 100 amp hour batteries, run in series - it is a 48v motor - which would give about 3 hours run time at full throttle. No over heating, no funny smells, and the "cruise control" button on the tiller/throttle worked great. It was just too loud, which is why I wanted an electric motor in the first place. I have many other outboards, and trolling motors too. So, now for beer cruises in 12' or 14' boats, I am back to my old set up of running 2 - 86 lb. thrust trolling motors, which are super quiet and pleasant, and plenty strong enough even in wind and chop with the bimini up on a heavier decked aluminum 14' v jon boat. If you don't care about noise, and just want to use it fishing and use ear plugs, this Hangki electric is a nice strong outboard. Speaking of fishing, for some reason, it looked like the noise was making fish jump out of the water on our fresh water lake. They weren't jumping anywhere else, just near the boat. Pretty weird. Maybe it is so loud under the water, and a certain frequency that the fish hate it? Don't know, but this one is getting sent back, which is too bad, because if it was quiet it would be a great motor. Oh, and one last detail, the transom clamp only opens to a maximum width of about 2.1/4" If you have a thick transom, this little guy will need some modifications to attach to your boat (Mine was slightly thick, and I used a chisel to take off a little wood so it would slide down on the transom.

5 hp electric outboard motors
The price can't be beat. Put 2 of these on my solar powered house boat. I was hoping for 5 miles per hour I think I got that and some. Woohoo I have rewired the motors to run in the front of the boat off one control but expect a challenge even for me. It has variable speed and css to lock the speed
