Fast, well built, additional bubble shield a must, plus...
This is a wonderful and well-built machine. It takes up a fair amount of space, but when it is used, it is worth the price. Unlike the small table-top versions from bed and bath stores, which take forever to warm up and 1 minute per cotton candy stick (which are not fluffy) causing a long line of hungry frustrated kids, this one is fast. It takes about 45 seconds to heat up, and about 10 seconds a piece to make huge fluffy cotton candy, a full tray makes about 5 or six before needing refilling. BUT upon refilling the hot unit, the new candy is ready in under 5 seconds. It takes about 30 minutes to assemble with focus and minimal mechanical abilities. The biggest problem is that you need your paper cones (sticks) all lined up and ready to go before starting to make cotton candy, because as you finish one cotton candy, the time needed to root through a box and get out a new stick causes a build-up and a mess, making the process somewhat frantic. I have seen a plastic netting material to line the inside, which may make better candies and be easier to clean. It comes with a rubber toothed drive belt (extra), so presumably this can break while using it, and I am unsure how easy it is to change out. It's a breeze to clean, just removed the shield and cover and hosed it off, then dried with paper towel. The scooper that comes with it is small and each scoop makes about one or two cotton candies, so here's what's needed to complete the awesomeness of this machine:1) Plastic Bubble shield keeps kids from reaching in and getting burned or hurt by the spinning head.2) Box of paper cones (500 per box pretty typical).3) A rack, perhaps a multi-test-tube rack to hold all the sticks or finished cones, because the three holes in the tray are not enough.4) Consider cotton candy bags to quickly wrap done candy, then you can lay them on their side instead of in a rack (smushes them though).5) A cup to mix or pour cotton candy "floss" (sugar) to use instead of the scoop, just pour carefully.6) Cotton Candy Floss, which is purchased online or at stores like "Smart N Final". About one cup full of floss should be good for about ten kids who all want seconds.

Fun to use
We enjoy using this. Fun for get togethers! You donāt NEED the big plastic bubble cover. It may make it easier, but itās fine without because you get the hang of it. Had it for about 6 months now. Used it 10-15 times. Still works well. Keep clean though. Used it for my sonās graduation party. The kids loved it!

Mostly Satisfied
This is a super cute machine. I love the color and the fun cart. Weāve made lots of cotton candy. Itās super easy to use and easy to clean. When youāre done just pour some water into it while itās still hot and it basically cleans itself. My only complaint is that the sugar spews out before melting and there is a build up of sugar crystals around the edge of the bowl. I have no idea why it does this and no idea how to prevent it. This machine works great for rolling onto the cone. You get a nice big fluffy cone. I like to bag the cotton candy and would like to be able to just let it go out into the bowl like Iāve seen in some YouTube videos, but because of the build up of the sugar crystals around the edge of the bowl, I canāt do that. Iād give 5 stars if I could figure out how to prevent the sugar from spewing out like that.

Works great, easy to use.
Tips: Use pretzel rods instead of paper cones to spin the candy floss on. I don't mess with sugar instead I use 2 hard candies, i.e. jolly ranchers, starlight peppermints, starlight spearmints, starlight chocolate mints and everyone's favorite Werther's original. Kids also like to mix a hard cinnamon and a green apple jolly rancher. We use the machine at a local historic site events in addition to a popcorn wagon. Both are so easy to operate I turn them over to my 12 year old neighbor and his 11 year old sister and let them collect tips.

BUY THIS YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!
Had been using a machine I bought 30+ years ago. It is a small home model. Was great but 4 grandchildren each waiting 10 to get a small cone made me look into this maker. WHAT A GREAT CHOICE I MADE!!!! This comes in a few parts & only pictures to put together. Between husband & myself it took 1/2 to put together. Had 14 cones bagged into 7 bags 15 minutes!!! Couldn't keep up with the machine. So very exited to have this new machineš Look forward to make many more in the future. Bought cover & am do happy I did. Can make it and be able to make anytime I want now. COVER IT WORTH IT!!! Almost didn't get it but am very happy I did. This is with every penny I paid for it. Also bought the plain cones 300, printed bags 100 & 4 different cartoons of sugar. Very happy with it all. Thank you Amazon for having this. After 35+ years using the small machine, am so happy I bought thisš

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE
We had purchased another one, got it and it was damaged and felt soo flimsy, returned it and spent the extra for this one!! It feels so much more durable, had directions to assemble that were easy to understand, it is easy to move around, and easy to clean

Makes lots of cotton candy fast!
I have bought several of the smaller versions of Colton candy makers and was truly disappointed that they wet mainly toys. Would only make,a handful of fluff. Well I then got one of the bigger ones on a wheeled stand and used it for three years but trying to use hot chocolate powder to make chocolate cotton candy did not turn out well. I should have mixed a small amount into a lot of sugar. But I didn't and burned up the center part of that machine. Aft going without my favorite dessert for long enough I finally researched the different kinds and chose this one.I am so happy I got a "real" machine finally. I mean this thing puts out the cotton candy! I am always a hit wherever I take cotton candy. It's a fat free dessert and I got several different flavors to use, that I will review as well.If you're thinking if getting a cotton candy maker, skip, over the little toy kind and get a real commercial type. You won't be sorry.o
