Needed a rivnut tool for a project, decided on this type (vs the more traditional long-handle style) for access reasons. Some of the inserts needed to be placed in tight spaces, and this did the trick. Granted, it's not that small (probably 10 inches long, maybe 5 inches tall), but the ratchet mechanism allows it to fit in much smaller areas than a regular rivnut tool.I probably won't use it often, as it's a bit of a specialty tool, but knowing I have it, I keep looking around for reasons to use it.

This is a very different nutsert tool. If you have used a wishbone type of riveting tool, you'll have to learn a new way. This is a ratcheting tool, it works differently. Takes a bit of a learning curve, but easily learned. Test a rivet or two first on a blank piece of metal. Well built, heavy duty, tool itself is heavy. Nice thing is it can be used in tight places. Odd thing is the nose cone, has two opposing flats for a wrench to assist in removal, but no wrench included. All it needs a flat open end 20mm wrench, but they are not common. I did find a flat, short one online, but they should include one. Nice case, pinned hinges, has large area the for rivets. Would like to see the case with independent sections for the rivets instead of cellophane packs. There is storage in the lid for all the mandrels, very snug in their respective slots. Large, clear, size markings on the end of the mandrels.Instruction sheet could be written better, had to guess at a few things. The manual is 4 pages, with the last two being blank. They could include a chart on what drill size to use for each size of rivet included with the set, and thickness tolerances of the material being riveted to. The instructions indicate a scale on the tool, it took some very close looking to find a tiny scale, a decal that cannot not be seen while using, supposedly to help set the stroke of the tool. Really, you have to trust “feel” to get it set right. Yes, it can work with aluminum nutserts.Overall, good tool for the money, would recommend it to any mechanic & sheet metal worker.

Makes installing rivet nuts a breeze! So fast and simple to use. Definitely easier than trying to use the grip style or squeeze handles. This is like winding a clock. I wish I'd bought this months earlier instead of killing my hands with the grips after installing the first of many rivet nuts. It all fits in in it's own carry case, which has a multitude of rivets, and the setting adapters. Great value for money, even for the occasional user.

Works great awesome concept, much easier to install a rivnut using the ratcheting method as opposed to the traditional squeezing. So far working well for the m6 and M8 once I have used

I’m glad I bought this even though I only needed to use it for 2 rivet nuts because I’ve needed to add threads plenty of times on projects of my past. Finally I discovered it.

What a great tool. I bought the other style before this, its a Y shape tool. That was way more difficult and hard to fit into tight spaces. But this style was a perfect. Made my install so easy and professional. Very fast shipping time.

Needless frustration caused by unit persistently jamming, unit poorly designed with an abundance of cheap plastic parts, a ridiculously incomplete set of instructions, and no customer service help following the sale. Despite reading and rereading the few instructions provided, and watching the few YouTube videos posted for this item, could not get the unit to function properly. Given the item’s price and claims that it allegedly provides an easier alternative to other available products, it was a huge disappointment. Returning for refund.
