A great value, with a unique flavor
Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality to price ratio, especially for organic tea. I'm also told that the Pu'erh region, where this is grown, is excellent for organic teas because the high altitude puts them above a lot of the ground pollution.Anyway, there are some stems, as you can see from my photos, but it's not anything unacceptable for the price. Especially since, if you go up and double check the listing name, this is not being sold as silver needle or white peony! Which is completely honest, as it's not quite white peony quality. Nor is it white peony price! Look at Davidson's "white peony" in comparison. It's less than half the price of this tea, but look at it! It literally looks like mulched maple leaves in the fall! That's shou mei for sure, 2 grades lower than white peony. This KHS tea, in comparison, looks like it's basically a very low grade white peony. It's almost entirely green, very few brown leaves, so it's not gong or shou mei. And it brews into a khaki color like white peony (gong and shou mei are typically distinctly yellow). But there aren't enough buds and intact leaves, and too many stems, to be true white peony. Absolutely fine for the price, though, especially since they aren't fraudulently calling it white peony! Finally, the taste. Very unique! It tastes a little like fresh hay at first, with a malty undertone, followed by a lingering, soft, savory flavor that I really have a hard time describing. It almost reminds me of crab, but not quite. It tastes more like a plant than an animal. It reminds me of some raw Pu'erh I've had, probably because of where it's grown. And it has essentially no detectable bitterness or astringency, despite me using 195 degree water, and steeping for about 4 minutes.Definitely a great value, but high enough quality to let you taste the region where it's grown!

Machine harvested
There were stems included in the bag, and not many silver needles. It was most likely machine harvested and not hand picked, the taste is still bright and its a good price. Still a bit on the bitter side for white tea, so brew with smaller amounts with less heat. It can give multiple steeps but not many, but for the price, would buy again.

Delicate white tea fragrance: THE GENUINE GOOD QUALITY WHITE TEA fragrance & taste.
So much tea for the $$Just received my tea & the first thing I did was cut open the bag and take a long deep inhale to test the fragrance. EXACTLY CORRECT--A FAMILIAR DELICATE FRAGRANCE.What a pleasant surprise! What a treat!I will boost my immune system all Winter while enjoying the unexpected quality of this tea.A Note to all customers complaining about the twigs in this product:1. The twigs also contain plant nutrients which are beneficial to your health. Some of these nutrients are not in the leaves. These twigs do not seem to taint the delicate flavor.2. If you want only hand-picked, first 2 or 4 Spring leaves & no stems, be prepared to pay upwards. Some teas in China sell beyond $500 USD for 1 ounce. It is a matter of how much you want to pay to enjoy a delicate tea flavor.3. It is a wonderful tea to have available in the USA via Amazon: count your blessings.

What a deal!
I could not believe this tea was organic based on what I paid. I always buy bulk tea because tea bags are very expensive. White tea is the tender leaves of green tea. I'm sure you already know the many health benefits of drinking green tea. Green tea is highly caffeinated so drink earlier in the day. I never acquired a taste for green tea so I add a splash of vanilla and 2 drops stevia. I also purchased roolbois tea at the same time. Also many health benefits and is not caffeinated so you can drink it at night. Also excellent price and yummy. I also purchased a set of tea strainers (see review). A couple days later I purchased a set for my daughter.

Too many twigs in the bag.
The tea itself is great and taste exactly like white tea. However, the bag contains too many twigs. I've purchased other loose leaf tea on Amazon and from my local grocery stores but none of came this much twigs. This brand would have been great if all the twigs were sifted out and only the actual tea leaves were in the bag.
