Very Sharp. Great Starter set of tools
I wanted to make something with it before I left a review. This is a piece I carved out of a lino from a craftstore. Its 7x5. I got some incredibly small details. Tools very sharp. You can see my fingers reflected in the tool.Definitely recommend! Read the pamphlet over before use.Comes with a sharpening(?) Block. I haven't figured out what the yellow bar is that comes with it.I didn't like the frog's fingers and I tried to redo them, but it didn't work out. The print is before I decided I could "fix" it....i shouldn't have touched it.

Best tools I've found
I've tried a few things for cutting the "easy cut" block printing material and these tools are absolutely nicer than anything else I've tried. They're easy to store, comfortable to use, sharp and well-shaped to glide on the surface of the block instead of biting and trying to dig in (like some woodworking tools I've tried.)They absolutely make carving easier and more pleasant; if I'd stuck to the speedball tools I probably never would have gotten into the hobby. Sometimes the tools really do make all the difference and this is one of those times.

Good and Sharp but with some imperfections
I bought this product soft wood carving and i had a really good time using it.I have ti say that I'm Italian and i had to spend a lot for the import taxes but it was still worth the price. They cut really well but the v-tool have some problems: the bigger one has one side longer than the other and the smaller one is so small that you have to be careful not to cut perpendicular to the wood fibers. At the end of the day although the have some little problems they are really fun to use IN COMBO WITH A CURVING KNIFE (don't be stingy when you buy one, it'll be worth the price).Something I'm not really happy about is the stropping thing because it's just a wood piece and the compound is just too hard to be used even when heated up, i just use the one i bought some time ago for my knife. Still a very good product

Best Deal on a Flexcut starter set you can find!
This lino/wood set is by far the best deal at the very best price. I paid $46.50 Prime Shipping. I looked far and wide and read reviews extensively on Amazon as well as Woodcraft and the Flexcut website. While there are some negative reviews they are far outnumbered by the rave reviews.I wasn't overly enamored with the idea of interchangeable tools and one handle, especially ABS versus the wood handled chisels. I am delighted with this handle although I have not used it for a lengthy project...I may have to recant this statement. This handle does fit the palm nicely.I really needed to compare this to the woodcarver starter set which also boasts 4 profiles with the ABS handle. It is a more expensive set and comes with the tool roll and a small piece of basswood with a leaf pattern. This set boasts 4 profiles with the ABS handle, a tool roll, and a small version of their slipstrop (with out leather) specifically for the chisel profiles and a stick of their yellow stropping compound.According to the Flexcut website at flexcutdotcom, The Lino/Wood set includes the following profiles:Sweeps1 each #6 5/16" (8mm) SK3061 each #11 1/8" (3mm) SK309V Parting tool1 each 45 degree micro (1mm) SK8031 each 70 degree 1/4" (6mm) SK307I was originally thinking about buying the micro palm tool set at about $59.99 for the small detail wood work. This interchangeable set is not all micro, but gives a broader foundation for adding more profiles.Flexcut has a list of all of their profiles on their website that you can print out. That's how I made the comparison between several of their sets. I can add profiles as the need arises. Each profile runs around $12.00 at the local wood store. The tool roll is just cheap vinyl. It's just more of a temporary place to store your profiles. I rolled it up and the profiles already started to slice the vinyl. You can make a more protective covering for the sharp edges with high density foam and a cut up bleach bottle. It will at least keep it from tearing thru the vinyl. This set at least provides the small slipstrop and the compound. That is a huge deal to not have to buy it separately. I had already purchased the standard slipstrop with the leather a few weeks ago for my knives. I didn't think I could go wrong having two!So, for $46.60 Prime, which is cheaper than buying direct, or locally at the wood craft outlet, this set rocks. Add the knife of your choice I bought a R. Murphy Knives HANDS Carpet Fixed Blade Knife with Round Design Brown Hardwood Handles and it came very sharp and after the slip strop it got even sharper. You may also consider a Schrade 3 5/16" Closed Middleman Jack 2 Blade the smaller blade is great for details.I am confident I made the right choice for what I want to carve and can add as I go along. You may want to do your own comparison of profile choices and what kits have included.

Using for Linoleum Printing
I'm finding these knives great for carving linocuts. Started with this basic set and ordered a couple more tools later on

Amazing tools
They come presharpened and also have a strop that keeps them sharp. I use these every day and I love them. I bought three of these and they are all for different materials (wood, linoleum, and rubber). They keep the edge really well and its perfect for beginners to pick up and use. Just keep in mind they are very sharp
