This is working out quite well for our little kitten who had just been spayed. We asked the vet put it on while she was still out to save her the pain and us the hassle, been on for 4 days now and she hasn't managed to get it off yet. She did figure out where it opens at the back and has been gnawing at it but it's holding well with only one press-stud fastened on each side (there are 2 but it was a bit too tight for her with both). It's also relatively easy to undo them to check the wound regularly without taking the whole thing off. Our kitty is 5 months old (2.85kg) and we got her the XXXS. She does walk a bit funny in it, shaking her legs all the time and seems to struggle to get comfy when laying down but still so much better than constantly bumping into everything with the usual buster collar (aka the cone of shame), it doesn't stop her from climbing and jumping, not to mention the suit protects her wound not only from herself but our other cat as well, who loves grooming her. We thought the suit would get dirty from using the litter tray but that has not been the case! Overall great product (same day delivery was a welcome bonus!), it is bit pricey but definitely worth it :) Edit: we left the suit on for two weeks in the end, wound all healed nicely when we took it off, which was also quite easy. Boy, was she glad to finally be free! :D Just wanted to add that there was a lot of 'wear and tear' to the suit, we washed it and kept it just in case but if you're thinking about investing in this with the intention to reuse or resell it, you should be aware that may not be possible/practical. Would probably be alright for another 2 weeks though, I just wish the tag with the logo on the outside wasn't so big or was placed somewhere else so the cat couldn't get to it (like the back of the neck), because our kitty pretty much tore it off.

Purchased in advance of my kittens neutering op. Our kitten is within the length limits given for this item but as the pop fasteners at the rear allow for growth I'm sure it'll still fit her when needed. She only weighs around 1.5 kg and is quite thin, the suit fits but there is room for growth. It went on ok but I did need someone to hold her while I fed her head through the neck and her legs through the front. She was none too happy to have it on and just rolled around the room as it appears to have taken away her ability to walk! I've given this 4 stars since I can't yet comment on using it following surgery. We are now two weeks post op and I'm back with an update. My female kitten came home with the suit on as well as a soft collar I'd bought. We removed the collar to see how she'd be without it and it never went back on. The suit worked perfectly. She couldn't get at her stitches or lick her wound. She didn't even attempt it. I took it off twice and allowed a supervised groom. Getting it back on involved wrapping her in a blanket and pinning it to the floor with my legs while stretching the neck of the suit over her head! The kitten could use the litter tray fine, never did the suit become stained or smelly. She never appeared to walk comfortably in the suit until after I'd removed it the first time I realised the vet had put it on upside down!! Even when we adjusted it, she always appeared depressed, had no fight in her and was downright miserable. Fast forward 10 days, the suit came off the stitches out and all is back to crazy cat normal! I'd really recommend this suit, it did what we needed it to do.

After being spayed my 5 month old kitten would not leave the wound alone. We couldn't get the cone supplied by vet on her and the comfy cone we purchased she just forced off. Found this and thought it would be worth a try...so much easier than the cone. We ordered the XXXS as we measured her according to instructions. It arrived quickly (Prime) and we got it on her fairly easily. Although you have to put it over the head atleast it has some stretch in it unlike the cones. Once on she just kept collapsing, was rather funny and a little sad to watch. It is very tight around the shoulders so she wouldn't walk properly...or couldn't as we thought. Anyway we ended up cutting the front leg hole a lot so she had more freedom and this seemed to help her walk. The suit looks tight but really isn't, I have been constantly checking and you can easily get two fingers under every bit. I think if we had given her time before cutting it she would have figured out how to walk in it, it is stretchy so she could move in it...we just panicked a bit. We manage to move our joints in tight skinny jeans but we are clothed from birth unlike a cat. I checked with the 'vet too and she said it was fine, cats don't like wearing stuff like this, not in their nature. My cat kinda goes into a bit of a catatonic state with it on. I know she can move and use the loo as she has when needed, she also managed to climb on top of the wardrobe and use her tall scratch post. She is a little anxious and stressed in it, and clearly not particularly happy but it is far better than the cones, she can do everything and see clearly. The moment she is not in it she bites and pulls the wound so this vest for 5 days or so is going to save her the pain of further opps and me more vet bills!

I’m writing this from the human perspective...it was a godsend after my cat had surgery and wouldn’t leave his stitches. Initially thought on purchase that it was expensive but I’ve done a u-turn on that as it’s always something that you can store away in case needed in the future, it’s also a lot cheaper than repeated trips to the vets because of pulling out stitches!!!! The cone of shame is not liked and hard to have to keep taking it on and off at different times of the day.This however was a good fit for my 5.8kg boy, adjustable poopers for cats that are larger/smaller too. He was able once he’d got used to it to go to he toilet and move around a lot more. He also slept a lot with it on, we think mainly through comfort a bit like a baby wrapped in a blanket. It’s easy to take on and off if it needs to be removed but you have to prepare yourself a bit first, after a few times it’s fine. My cat initially gave me death stares (as per photo) and I swear would have committed murder if he could have done but did settle. The fact he looked like he was about to join the marines due to the grey, white and black camo print was quite a talking point with the vets and my family! Good easily washed material and breathable so he didn’t get too warm with it on. The nicest thing about this that although you can’t actually touch their fur you can still stroke them and they still enjoy it. Lots of purrs from him, even more now he is fully healed and recovered.

My cat had a wound on the back of his neck which he had had for over six weeks. Every morning I would bathe it, and by the evening he had scratched it and made it bleed. An Elizabethan collar would not work because it would have cut into the wound. I found this on the Pets at Home website but bought it from Amazon because delivery was quicker. It was a bit of a palaver getting him into it, and, as others have said, he went rigid for a while, but he adapted very quickly and was able to go out as usual the next day. The suit has a "polo neck" so I was able to roll it up as far as I needed to cover his injury. After a week I took it off and the scab had healed. I would highly recommend this product. It is very well designed, easy to fit, obviously reasonably comfortable and did exactly what I wanted it to do.

At first I thought this was a great item to help with a couple of patches of eczema on my cats back . Easy to put on and fitted like a glove . Mr D did not seem to badly bothered by it . After 2 days however three holes appeared on the chest wall of the suit . I think he had been licking it but I never saw him attack it vigorously. Perhaps there is a fault on this one or the material needs to be more resilient ?

This looks like a great suit but as soon as I opened it I knew it was too small to get over my cat’s head! I have tried to return this item but it says I am unable to. I can’t find anything on the item page which says this and it is impossible to find anywhere to contact the seller or Amazon about this. VERY disappointing as this is not a cheap suit and I cannot use it. Would not recommend unless you are absolutely sure.

My poor tiny adult cat had to have stitches in her back and the soft cone that the vets put on her was just traumatic for her. She was uncomfortable and very confused as she had trouble doing simple things like walking and eating. The straw that broke me was when she drank out of the water fountain and collected water in the cone and frightened herself silly when it trickled all over her when she lifted her head. (Feel free time laugh, I did a little). I started to research for an alternative and found that little medical suits had helped others but there were very mixed reviews. I found suitical and despite not being too keen on the camouflage pattern (she is my little princess and deserves to look like a girl) I noted the reviews both on and off amazon and decided to go for it. I measured her and was going to buy the xxs but another review put me off and I bought the xs. It arrived promptly but was just too big for my little girl cat, she is just under 4K and is 2.5yrs old so definitely full grown. I organised a return which was swift and pain free and ordered an xxs on same day delivery. It arrived and, despite my inherent scepticism, it’s perfect. She is not happy wearing it but she’s a lot happier than when she had to wear the cone, win win in my eyes. The suit is really good quality, it’s finished well, the design allows her to do all necessary cat stuff and she seems less itchy and chew focused, she spent most of last night cleaning it as if it were her fur, which was noisy and a little funny but she is sleeping much better and is even coming for cuddles so her very vocal and sharp clawed objections when having it put on have completely passed and I can lavish affection upon her when she most needs it. She does walk like she’s had a stroke but she’s a sensitive little thing and it’s a small price to pay when she seems otherwise happy. Bottom line is measure your cat and order the measured size, don’t freak out when you put it on and they act like they are paralysed, it’s a normal cat reaction to being swaddled. Give them some treats if you can and let them feel safe and after a relatively short time your cat should be up and about. This suit has honestly been a god send, my kitty would not have coped in a cone for 10 days and neither would I, it’s was clearly distressing her and I would have felt hideous the whole time so we are both grateful to have found this product.

Commençons par les raisons de cet achat. Stitch, chat femelle de six mois a été stérilisée. A son réveil, elle avait déjà retiré un fil. La véto lui a fait un pansement ultra résistant qu’aucun chat n’était censé pouvoir retirer. Stitch s’est acharnée sur le pansement, l’a retiré et s’est un peu plus ouvert la plaie en créant une énorme inflammation. Elle a donc finie avec des agrafes, en collerette et avec un autre pansement, mais ça ne l’a pas arrêtée. Elle est hyperactive et capable de contorsion hors du commun. Pour couronner le tout, étant cardiaque, elle ne pouvait pas être réopérée et il fallait absolument qu’elle se tienne tranquille. La véto n’avait pas de solution à me donner. Donc, niveau de stress maximum et nuits blanches pour veiller le chaton. A tout hasard, j’ai regardé sur Amazon et je suis tombée sur cette combinaison qui était mon dernier espoir de la sauver. DESCRIPTION Cette combinaison est parfaitement étudiée pour la morphologie des chats et particulièrement pour les opérations au niveau du ventre, où elle est plus ample pour éviter les frottements sur la plaie. A l’intérieur, il y a également une poche où l’on peut glisser une serviette hygiénique ou une pochette réfrigérée (comme indiqué par le fabriquant). J’y ai mis une compresse pour ne pas prendre le risque que mon chaton attrape une agrafe lorsqu’il tirait sur la combinaison. COMMENT ON LA MET ? On enfile d’abord la tête, puis les deux pattes avant et enfin, on ferme les deux brettelles derrière les pattes arrières. Si votre chat n’est pas facile, une fois la tête enfilé, donnez-lui de la pâtée pour l’occuper. LE CHAT LA SUPPORTE-T-IL / EST-CE CONFORTABLE ? On ne va pas se mentir, les chats ne vont pas appréciés d’être emmitouflés dans un vêtement. Pour vous parler de mon expérience, il n’y a pas de doute, la combinaison a été parfaitement supportée contrairement au pansement qui colle les poils et sur lequel Stitch a passé plusieurs heures à essayer de le retirer. Elle a quand même attaqué quelques fois la combinaison, mais seulement durant quelques minutes, pas durant des heures. Donc cela ne l’a gênait pas tant que ça. Je ne l’ai jamais vu se frotter contre les murs ni quoique ce soit du genre. Normalement, la combinaison permet de ne pas mettre de collerette. Dans mon cas, elle a gardé la collerette jusqu’à ce que les agrafes soient retirées et ensuite, elle a gardé la combinaison jusqu’à cicatrisation de la peau. Côté confort, elle n’a pas été gênée dans ses mouvements. Courses poursuites, sauts, descente et montée des escaliers, escalade des murs, cabrioles sur l’arbre à chat, bagarre avec son frère, … Avec ou sans la combinaison, elle était toujours la plus rapide et la plus agile (voir deuxième partie de la vidéo). Comme elle est petite, les bretelles étaient peut-être un peu larges pour elle, et elle avait un peu une tendance à marcher comme un cowboy qui descend de cheval. C’est certainement pour ça qu’elle s’est attaquée aux bretelles et pas au reste de la combinaison. Je vous ai mis la vidéo que j’ai prise juste après lui avoir mis la combinaison (première séquence de la vidéo). Vous pouvez voir qu’elle n’y prête pas plus attention que ça. Elle a une démarche un peu mal assurée qui n’a pas duré longtemps (quelques minutes, le temps qu’elle s’y fasse). ET POUR LES BESOINS ? Aucun problème, votre chat peut aller faire ses besoins sans risquer de souiller sa combinaison (voir photo et dernière partie de la vidéo). COMMENT CA TAILLE ? J’ai l’impression que ça taille un peu petit. A titre d’exemple, Stitch a 6 mois et mesure un petit 30cm du cou à la base de la queue. La combinaison XXXS est donnée pour un chat mesurant de 29 à 37cm. Elle est donc dans la partie basse des dimensions, et surtout, c’est une crevette qui a été qualifiée de « micro modèle » par sa véto. Elle est très fine et ce n’est donc pas son tour de taille qui peut rendre la combinaison trop petite. La première fois, je n’ai d’ailleurs attaché qu’un bouton pression sur les deux. Puis, avec le temps, la combinaison s’est détendue et j’ai attaché les deux boutons. Je trouve que le modèle lui allait parfaitement et je me pose la question si ça ne serait pas trop petit pour un chat un peu plus grand. Ma véto a eu l’air de dire que ça serait bon car lorsque l’on tire sur la combinaison elle s’allonge comme elle est en stretch. Mais bon, le chat risque d’être boudiné de mon point de vue. Toutefois, si vous la trouver un peu juste, tirer dessus pour la détendre. EST-CE RESISTANT ? Sur ce point, il faut être objectif. La combinaison est en coton et lycra, pas en maille de fer. Donc si votre chat a décidé de s’y attaquer, il est certain qu’il y aura des trous. Stitch s’est particulièrement attaquée aux bretelles et elle en a quasiment sectionnée la moitié d’une. Toutefois, après plus de dix jours, si la fabrication n’avait pas été de bonne qualité, elle aurait été en pièces (voir troisième partie de la vidéo et photos). La combinaison devant être portée pour une durée limitée suite à une opération, j’estime qu’elle a rempli sa mission haut la main. Pour ces deux raisons, je ne retire pas de point à la notation. Sinon, Stitch avait compris comment défaire les pressions des bretelles. De temps en temps, il y a avait une bretelle qui pendait. Mais pour autant, elle ne pouvait pas accéder à sa plaie. Si nécessaire, avec une pince, vous pouvez toujours resserrer un peu la fermeté du bouton pression. QU'EN PENSE MA VETERINAIRE ? Elle a trouvé ça tellement bien qu’elle va en acheter. I cannot stress how amazing this product is without saying a few things about my cat, her surgery and exactly why this does not compare to the Vet’s recommended cone. Luna was scheduled for spaying, and during the first phone call with her veterinarian, I discovered she would be expected to have her wear a cone for two weeks, in order to keep her from disturbing the incision site, I ordered a cone, and as soon as I put it on trying it’s size, she reacted with extreme fear. I took it off, and in a matter of a few hours searching product options on Amazon, I found the Suitical. The Amazon customer reviews and the company’s website and video convinced me to purchase the suit. In order to help other pet parents, she is 19 months old, weighs 6.75lb/3.02 kg and her measurements: 15”/38cm neck to base of tail, 13”/33cm chest, 14.5”/37cm belly and 7”/17.8cm neck. Using the provided sizing chart, I assumed the XXS was correct considering her neck to tail measure of 15”. It arrived, I LOVED IT, but it was very large. The from armholes and hip curves were low on her limbs impeding her movement. The critical back area had too much length around her tail and though the snaps were on the smallest setting, she would not have been able to use the litter box. I contacted Amazon and I received an XXXS within 2 days. At first, it seemed small, but when fitted properly, it is perhaps snug but not tight or compressive. This is the important difference in fit, too big will cause your cat to move unnaturally, and the back part won’t allow clean litter box usage. I’ve read reviews where some people modify the Suitical, like cutting the turtleneck and adjusting the back, but honestly I think getting the best fit is a good idea without modifying the design. I only gave the neck a few tugs and removed her collar then prewashed it. Luna wore the XXXS with the longer two snaps only, due to her 15” length. When correctly fitted, your cat will be protected, comfortable, her skin and fur clean and completely capable of using the litter box without issue. The fabric is 94% cotton, 6% Lycra and it feels like a medium weight soft cotton tee after a prewash. Watch the Suitical video on YouTube to see how it works and how it should look when fitted correctly. Additionally, the psychological effect on your cat will be very different from use of a cone. I tried it for three days before surgery, one hour each day. She was not happy at first, but within 45 minutes of calm encouragement Luna went from flopping around in it to sitting tall. Knowing I had to protect her surgical site for two weeks — that was foremost in my mind. We both had to be able to tolerate the choice. Another thing that was helpful behavioral. With the Suitical on, she was less likely to jump and play vigorously - exactly the type of activities the Veterinarian ordered her not to do. She was not demoralized, just relaxed and allowed for her not to disturb the incision or site. After the surgery, I did give her supervised breaks, removing the suit for two or three hours to brush her and let her groom. It worked out perfectly. The sewn in panel over the mid to lower belly is firmly attached and open so you can insert sterile glaze pads necessary after surgery . I hope our experience and Luna’s story is helpful.
