Best bird book ever
I purchased one at a national park when traveling and found it to be easier to use with more information than any bird book I have so I sent one to my bird loving grandson and he loves it to. Great photos and graphics. Easy to identify an unknown Florida bird.

Great Bok
Exactly as advertised, came quickly. I can now identify that noisy bird in the backyard as a red bellied wood pecker!

OK but mistakes
There's a couple of mistakes on a couple of the birds and when u deal with people from Audubon society, who u take on a boat tour, they will let you know when your wrong! Embarrassing

Excellent for bird lovers
I bought this after being disappointed by the other Birds of Florida -Lone pine publishers. It is very thorough, and gives pictures of juveniles, flight patterns, varying seasonal plumage, and silhouettes as well as common look alike birds. It has concise information about song, behavior, breeding, and nesting. Worth buying.

disappointing
I was spoiled by a bird book of my previous state. Birds of Carolinas. It was crucial in developing my bird ID skills, knowledge of habitats, breeding and helped me establish a large and varied backyard bird habitat. as title said - it did focus on the Carolina birds, migrating, visitors, residents of seasons. This book is woefully misnamed. Title should be birds of NORTH AMERICA, Page after page is about birds that do not reside, visit or migrate into Florida. It has proven to be a waste of time as a resource for Florida birds. I thought with the Smithsonian handbook labeled on the cover that it would be dedicated (as title said) to the birds of Florida. Based on previous experience with a book targeted on specific state - this book is a don't buy. I'm still looking for a book that does focus on FLORIDA. I won't be fooled again by someone using the Smithsonian name, which made me decide to buy this mislabel nearly useless guide with more North American birds in rather than dedicated to Florida birds information.

Love it
I selected this book from the reviews. There are lots of books on Florida birds out there and it's not easy to choose, butI'm very happy with my choice, it is easy to follow with very good pictures.
