Screw missing, fans rattling on both units
Based on reviews, I bought 2 of these units. Both of them were put together in a very sloppy way. One of them had one of 3 fan motor screws missing that secures it to its housing and it seemed the unit was previously used. Both units had the fan nut not tightened causing a rattle when I first turned it on. I bought these for a customer site job and didn't have time to return and reorder (perhaps something else). So I had to waste about an hour of my time on site and repaired both units so that they could be installed right away. One doesn't need surprises like this on a paid job. It seems there is no quality control whatsoever, since 2 out of 2 were bad. If you need to buy an exhaust fan of similar specs, look for something else, or be prepared to spend some time to correct the defects. I feel like it was a waste of my money.Update - after my initial review the seller connected with me via Amazon and offered new units. But as the old ones were already installed at my customer's site, I had no way to replace them. So the seller refunded the full amount to show how serious they are about having a satisfied customer. They truly took the responsibility for their product and made it right.

Second one worked fine
Had one already I used in the basement shop. Works fine. Ordered another for the other end of the room, but it was incredibly loud and really annoying and returned it. The replacement works fine now. It is loud enough to be noticeable, but if it sounds like you're standing under an airplane engine then return it.

Nice fan but with significant design flaw ** review updated
I bought this fan recently intending to mount it to a plywood board that I would then put into my basement window to help with ventilation when I work on certain projects. So, a temporary use - open the window - put the board in - push the window down onto the board - remove board when finished for the day. I imagine that some people might want to mount it into a hole in the wall for a more permanent installation. It has a sturdy power cord with an in-line on/off switch, but the problem is that the power cord comes out of the fan body well out into the tubular body of the fan! (See pics.) So, if for example you wanted to mount it into a hole in the wall, the power cord would end up either inside the wall or hanging outside the wall. Crazy. For my purpose, where I might stick it into the window for a few hours, I just routed the cord back "inside", in order to plug it in to my indoor wall outlet. So, I was able to work with it so no need to send it back personally, but this design is a bit of a head-scratcher. Something to be aware of. Aside from that, it seems to be a quality fan with a good switch. Not super powerful but good enough for what I needed. ** I am updated this review after being contacted by the maker/seller in response to the review. The end result is that - the fan works for what I needed, so I have no reason to send it back, and they will be looking in to the design. I must add that I am very impressed with their communications and customer service. They were very responsive to my concerns.
