Yes, it works
I got this for my man and I for adult extra curricular activities. The color is perfect, but if it gets wet you can see the color of the substance when it dries. (Mainly if it's white or milky) Very comfortable and does not shed. Easy to clean as you wash and dry it on normal cycles (med heat wash med heat dry) Note - I did not use fabric softener on mine, and the sherpa still was soft not clumpy. It is perfect size to cover half of a king bed, and it feels like it is made of quality materials for the price.Would work if you use it for pets, toddlers, or adults. It has saved us from having to wash our sheets daily, as this is actually water resistant.Final note - after you go to dry it make sure to lay it out flat or hang it until you can confirm it is 100% dry. If you fold it before then you may come in contact with excess moisture next use as it won't air out properly. (This could also produce mold if it's a reoccuring issue.)Overall very happy with our purchase, and would reccommend this for the price. (Especially compared to the ones that are $100+ for the same activities.)Go forth and enjoy your aquatic activities in comfort and style!

Worth its weight in gold!
Great quality, it's true to its word about being waterproof and it launders like a dream! My 19 yr cat is having some problems fully emptying her bladder. She gets through the night with the help of a cat diaper, but with this blanket I didn't have to worry about there being diaper leaks on my bed. She had one accident, and this went through the wash so well! There was almost no lint so I won't have to worry about washing it with anything else going forward. One small note - it did take 2 cycles in the dryer but that is small beans compared to the peace of mind for me and the comfort this blanket brings to my cat!

it is water proof
spilled like half cup water to see if it is waterproof. it is. completely. I bought the red one. the red color is nice. but the other side is "taupe." the picture looks more like a cream.color but it is more brownish gray. not pretty. the blanket is soft and it is waterproof. and I do like the red. but if you don't want a brown blanket (or brownish gray edges on your red blanket), get the black on black. if I could do it over, it's what I would do.

Works well and is comfortable.
Handy blanket, comfortable and water proof. Protects couch or sofa well. Looks good and is very easy to machine wash too.

Protected my couch on first use
My dog has some issues with anxiety and allergies, and as a result tends to lick her paws/fur when left on her own at home. She'll lay on one spot on the couch and lick until the fabric is too wet even for her to be comfortable, get up and move to a new spot on the couch, and repeat. I just bought a brand new couch and wanted to try out a water resistant blanket to try to protect it from this. This blanket worked like a charm on its very first use. I ran the blanket through the wash before using it. Before I left for work I draped the blanket over the cushions I wanted to protect, sherpa side up. I didn't realize the blanket had even done its job until I unknowingly sat in a wet spot after I got home and my jeans started to soak up the moisture. Sure enough, the moisture had not soaked through the other side of the blanket or made it to my new couch cushion. Already ordered a second blanket. The sherpa side is very soft, but you can kind of tell this is meant to be a barrier from the overall feel of the fabric. I wouldn't use this as a throw for myself to snuggle up with, but it is sturdy enough to protect other fabrics. Due to the water resistance of the fabric it does seem to slow the evaporation process. I'll have to think of a routine to air out any wet spots on the blanket inbetween laundering. Sure beats water marks and difficult to clean wet spots on couch cushions though- so far I am very pleased with this product! It seems to be doing exactly what I intended it to.Other reviews mention instantaneous leakage of fluids through the fabric...I'm not sure what volume they were dealing with...It does seem that an excess of fluid would get absorbed by a greater area of the sherpa side, and if the blanket were wadded up (instead of laying flat) this would result in the fluid getting transferred elsewhere. I'm guessing that laying the blanket flat as a barrier, and the non-sherpa side being the resistant side, is key. If i have any incidents with greater fluid volume on my current set up I'll update my review to reflect those findings.

Works
So far, it works. It is nice looking. The fleece stays dry. I was shocked. After a good time, I removed it from my bed with plans to wash in a couple of hours. When I picked it up for a wash, I was wondering why I was washing it because it felt completely dry. Oh well, to the wash it goes. As I was unfolding it to toss in the wash, I felt how soaked the top was. Good investiment, but for how long? We will see. I will update when/if it stops working. I will say it takes a long time to dry. I use the delicate cycle. I accept the long dry time as long as it continues to work as it should.
