I've been trying to find a new manga to take my interest lately (after the awesome Fruits Basket ruled my life) and stumbled across Ouran.The basic plot is a Scholarship Student Haruhi attends prestigious Ouran Academy, normally home to offspring of the rich and famous.One day Haruhi stumbles across the Ouran High School Host club who attend young ladies and entertaining them. Haruhi becomes in their debt and is forced to work as a Host to pay off the money owed.This is a hilarious manga with twists, lots of lovely moments and guarenteed to entertain. If you like Hana Yori Dango,Hot Gimmick or Fruits Basket you should enjoy this awesome Shojo Manga!!!!!I know I do ^^

Okay, this is spoiler-y. Don't proceed if you don't wanna see.This collection starts with a flashback, to when the twins were first approached by Tamaki after he'd had the idea to form a host club. The twins love to torment people, frequently playing on the contradiction of being physically identical and yet different beings. When Tamaki greets them, they challenge him to guess which twin is Hikaru and which is Kaoru. But just when they get bored, thinking Tamaki is just another slow-witted idiot, Tamaki shows them that the contradictions within them are part of their nature, too, and he can accept them.The story returns to the present, and a real live princess from a European kingdom has arrived. But it seems nothing is good enough for her, and the twins in particular are crazed by her increasingly selfish requests for extravagant gestures and personal service. It is only when Kyoya, who has seen a photo of Tamaki's mother whom Michelle resembles, suggests that Tamaki may be trying to make Princess Michelle smile because his last memory of his beloved mother was a woman in tears that the twins and Haruhi also try to please the foreign visitor.Tamaki finally makes the girl smile by providing what she really wanted, but admits to Haruhi that he feels he was being selfish because it was due to his memories of his mother. Haruhi states that she can't laugh at that or chide him for it, because she has also in her own way been living her life to follow her mother. Tamaki is then stricken by something.Later, when he is home, Tamaki admits to himself that he wanted to kiss Haruhi at that moment. But his desire to protect the status quo of the Host Club makes him unwilling to consider what his feelings for Haruhi might mean. Finally he believes that his feelings for her are still paternal when his father admits that he wants to kiss Tamaki on the forehead. But when Tamaki kisses Haruhi's forehead, her reaction is quite stunned.The book ends with an extra story, featuring a character called Mr Takami (also rather a sweet ditzy guy) who falls hard for a rather abrupt girl with a ramen restaurant. He had dreams of becoming a teacher... but the girl he loves will only be involved with a guy she thinks might be a good partner in the ramen restaurant. When love clashes with dreams, which will win?Frothy and sweet, great reading if you want light entertainment.

Tamaki and friends are up to their usual antics in this ninth volume of the series. Note that Amazon's "Book Description" is inaccurate; this is not about Hunny and Chika. It starts out with a flashback to when Tamaki was recruiting the twins for the club, followed by the arrival at Ouran of a European princess who gets Host Club emotions boiling! Then Tamaki takes ill. There is a short piece about the Host Club with Haruhi at her home, and a short issue of Love Egoist which is much less creepy than previous Love Egoists were.I still love this series best of all the manga I've ever read, and can't wait to get my hands on future volumes.

Another wonderful volume of Ouran Highschool host Club! Full of fun that should never end. I could give you the synopsis but I'm sure by now you know it. This volume is a must read, especially for any OHSHC fan. Mind you people who have come directly over from the anime, it's better to start at the beginning rather than the middle as it is quite different.
