Better pictures showing backstitching would be great.
These turned out great. Had to finish them all once I started. They are precious to me…

Decent
The printing is fairly easy to figure out. They uses the same symbols in colors that were similar right next to each other, so those are hard to discern. The Aida is stiff, so nice for beginners to handle. The thread was separated for you in manageable lengths and labeled.HOWEVER: the instruction sheet was terrible. It didn’t explain if you should cut the bookmarks apart first and where (vital for beginners). It mentions 11ct and 14ct when using 2 or 3 strands but doesn’t actually tell you which you are dealing with. The grammar and English were atrocious, sometimes so bad you have no idea what is being said.

Great Project!
This was ambitious for my first project, but I loved it! Like other reviewers have said, the Doors of Murin were very challenging as the hot pink color and reddish pink color look identical. I had to continue looking at the reference photo to make sure I was not messing up. In spite of that, I am still leaving 5 stars. This was well organized and designed. It kept me busy for hours and hours and it was the perfect amount of challenging and relaxing.

Not bad
I have finished the hobbit hole and am working or Mordor right now. I am not a fan of the printed design only because they use really dark or bright colors for light colored thread so you can see the pattern behind the thread. And some of the colors on the pattern are so similar that it is hard to tell which is which. You have to look at the paper and try to figure it out on there. And that is my is my other complaint. They should have put the paper designs each on a separate piece of paper or max 2 per page. The way they have it the designs are super small and can be hard to see.Backstitching should also be better defined on the pattern. Some of the backstitching doesn’t make sense or help. Backstitching is supposed to help define things in the finished product and, at least on the hobbit hole, the backstitching does not do that.Pros for this kit though are the thread, fabric used, and the felt you get with it. You will have plenty of thread left over so if you mess up or use a lot of thread to jump around you should be good. I also like that it gives you the dmc number so you can easily save the leftovers.

Beginners can do this
I bought these for my 13-year-old son who has never stitched anything in his life until recently taking a leatherworking class at school and had to do a running stitch one day. That being said, he has never cross-stitched before. I've attached a picture of his first project. This pattern can be hard to read sometimes, but the stamped fabric makes this so very much easier than a counted cross-stitch. There are a lot of stitches, but a beginner can do it. My only desire is for them to make a better instruction page. He had some questions that I helped him with. Don't let that deter you. This is VERY cool.

Great set
I’m definitely not a beginner but I think this set is perfect for all levels of experience. Includes everything you need and plenty of extra thread. I’ve had so much making these.

Cute, but got the wrong color floss so I can't complete one design.
I love the designs, but when I was working on the Mordor design I discovered that the kit included the same exact color floss for pattern colors #38 and #39 (see above where the two are stitched next to each other, versus the product photo that clearly shows they're different colors) and unfortunately there's no way to fix this since I don't know which is the "wrong" color or what the right color should be, and I can't take it the stitches without ruining the floss (although it doesn't seem to be the greatest quality anyways) so I probably won't have the right color to complete it, which is disappointing. The pattern isn't quite aligned with the fabric, and some of the colors are hard to distinguish on either the fabric or the printed pattern, but so far when referring to both I've managed to do OK.The one that I finished with no obvious problems is pretty cute, though.

Looks great but missing supplies
This looks like a fantastic project! I got everything sorted out, made sure the threads are on bobbins, then realized I am missing the needles and the threader that it is supposed to come with. I’ll have to look around for the appropriate needle to use since I haven’t done a kit like this in a while. Sort of disappointing but I can make due
