wisdompro Backpack Chest Strap, Heavy Duty Backpack Sternum Strap, Black

Received a 'Wenger Chasma' backpack as a gift from a friend who no longer wanted it. Despite having loops for a chest strap, It did not come with one and they arent available from Wenger as replacement straps or optional accessories. Had many googles and decided to try this one given the many reviews and it works absolutely fine. Although it does require some trimming. The buckle itself its made from a strong plastic that is found on many backpacks, but i cross my fingers in the hopes it wont get brittle and crack over time as cheap Chinese plastic normally does this in my experience. On the 5th picture where you can see No.3 - I have passed some excess strap back through the outside of the slider towards my arms before trimming with a pair of sharp scissors and melting/sealing the freshly cut ends with a zippo - you can use a regular lighter if dont have one. it will still do the same job... The lighter melts the ends of the strap and stops it from fraying. You want enough heat to melt the ends, not set it alight so dont hold it on the flame for too long. Running the ends across the flame a few times is the way to do it then blow on it to cool it down and it should be sealed and hard as nails. The reason why i double the strap back towards my arms is so i have excess just in case as well the whole fitting being doubly secure.

I purchased these straps for a new work back pack, which did not have a chest strap built in as my old one did. They arrived as expected, first glance these were quality straps though did find it a little fiddly to wrap securely around my new back pack shoulder straps. As my new bag shoulder straps were wide, tightening them too much will squash the bag straps making for an awkward fit. Not tightening them enough will lead to them being too loose and sliding down your shoulder straps once released. They do come with an instructional diagram if needed, though reasonably easy to assemble. I keep them wrapped around my bag shoulder straps daily, and only use them based on how heavy a load I'm carrying. One strap has Wisdompro branding on it. Great price, does the job though tricky to keep in position as very little friction between chest strap material and bag shoulder strap material. Tightening the strap can easily overcome this.

I bought to put on a backpack that was very cheap because the strap was missing. It is well made with a very secure attachment method. The only downside is that it is enormously long. I have a 48inch chest so not small but there was still a ridiculously large amount of spare strap once tightened up, flapping in the wind. I shouldn't complain and, of course, the straps can be trimmed to fit but without a hotknife to do the job properly you may be left with a fraying mess.

With very little use, one strap fell off and was lost. Suggest customers buy a strap that stays fixed.

Li ho provati per molto tempo e sono stati indispensabili per ogni mio viaggio. Questa cosa è importante in quanto il più delle volte ho viaggiato solo con uno zaino strapieno e pesante. Grazie a questo accessorio che mi ha concesso di poter camminare per molto tempo senza gravare sulle spalle con il peso dello zaino. Ad oggi si sono rotti gli zaini ma queste ancora sono perfette e li metto su ogni mio zaino.

Correas indispensables cuando por alguna razón no están incorporadas al macuto original. Simplemente hay que buscar la manera de que no se deslicen a lo largo de la correa para los hombros. Por lo demás estupendas. Sirven para cualquier grosor y anchura de las correas de los hombros del macuto.

I bought these to enhance a very nice Away backpack of mine that does not have chest straps. I find the chest strap to be important when carrying a backpack any sort of longer distance. This strap is very simple. It took me a few tries to get it on how I wanted it, but I did. I'm not great with knots, etc so I messed up putting it on backward, etc. Now this lovely Away branded backpack has a chest strap to keep the shoulder straps from slipping down. Great 6 dollar investment!
