has that nice peppery flavor from Spain
Good quality EVOO in a dark bottle so it doesn't go rancid on the table. I love the flavor of Spanish Olive oil and would buy again from this vendor.

Really good olive oil from Spain
I like everything about this oil. First time trying it, too. Decided to give it a try, and glad I did. This oil is great for "the drizzle", won't be using it to cook with. I bought 3, one for myself, and 2 for sisters-in-law for Christmas presents. Have tried different one from Spain in the past, and this is the best. May have to re-order, or I can always get into the "Christmas stash" LOL

Rich taste for dressings and drizzling on delicate foods
This is strong tasting extra virgin olive oil that I like to use for dressings or to add flavor to cooked fish or chicken - just a small drizzle on top of your food does wonders. I generally get mono-varietal or GI (Geographical Indication) oils - which have gotten pricier lately so thought of giving this a shot - primarily due to reasonable price point. I was quite impressed and intend to reorder.

Pretty, peppery, pricey
This is definitely the fanciest olive oil I’ve every tried. The presentation is awesome, from the box to the heavy blue bottle. The product I received had a used by date of 03/15/2024. That’s reassuring so far in that the product is fresh. However, olive oil is notorious for being cut with cheaper oils. ABASA is not a familiar brand to me and I couldn’t find anything on the internet about it receiving a “Bicchiere di Platino” award. I just have to trust this is what it claims to be.Pouring a sample, I immediately noticed it had a familiar and fragrant aroma. The oil was not very green though, more yellow like my cheap grocery store olive oil. It was very peppery. This is something to keep in mind depending on your intend use. Personally, I think it will work wonderfully for some homemade pesto.

Elevated even my simplest dishes!
Elevated even my simplest dishes! first thing I made was simple green beans with a bit of fresh garlic, and THIS OIL. The flavor was incredible. I didn't tell my family and they commented about what I did differently. Such an upgrade to a basic meal. I cannot wait to cook some Spanish dishes with this olive oil.

Good quality, flavorful but not ‘outstanding’ for the price
The ABASA Reserve EVOO comes nicely (and more important - safely!) packaged in a fairly heavy duty box that seems to protect the bottle well. The bottle looks attractive but also feels a bit ‘cheap’ in that it is a painted glass bottle as opposed to colored glass. The flavor of the oil is very good - definitely more flavorful than some of the much less expensive EVOO’s, but at the same time I wouldn’t consider it ‘outstanding’ for the price it sells at. The flavor is quite fruit/olive-y (<— is that a word?) and this oil is probably best used for those occasions where you *want* to actually taste the olive oil (dipping oil, for example) rather than using it for everyday cooking, as I think it is too expensive to justify that. Overall I would give this 3 stars - the most positive thing is the flavor itself which is really good, but I am not sure the price is justified (obviously, this is subjective on my part). And at this price point I think the bottle should be colored glass and not a painted glass (I could see it making a really nice gift for a cook if this were the case). So, a nice but not outstanding (for the price) product. I hope you find this info helpful to you!

Tried it as stated in the title- as a cooking oil. Neutral flavor in cooking.
Reading the main title it describes this oil as a cooking oil. When it comes to cooking olive oils, I normally do not spend this much on one. When looking for a cooking olive oil, I am looking for something mild tasting. Not a robust flavor. What this is:This is 16.9 ounces of Extra Virgin Olive oil. This is a bit more than 2 cups of oil. It is made in Spain. It arrives in an attractive glass blue bottle. Looking at the bottle, I feel it is unusual to have a cooking oil in such an attractive bottle.Flavor:Tasting it by itself, I can taste the classic olive oil flavor. It does have a slightly bitter finish. It does have a slightly peppery flavor. The flavor is a little more than what I would consider a light flavor. Not quite middle of the road either. In between the two.In trying this:I tried this only for cooking because that is how it is marketed. I made salmon using it, I sauteed mushrooms and onions. I made a rice pilaf with it. I made scrambled eggs. I used this over multiple days and in multiple recipes.Even though I feel this has a slight peppery and slight bitter flavor, I found it was very neutral in cooking. In my food, I do not feel it added a peppery or bitter flavor to it.5 stars:I feel this is a very good quality olive oil that can be used for much more than just as a cooking oil. As a cooking oil though it is excellent.
