I'm impressed with the quality and construction of these lights. I feel they will last quite a long time outdoors. Mine are installed under the edge of the roof out of the sun and worst of the weather. The power supply/control unit is mounted indoors out of the weather. The pre-set factory "scenes" in the app are wonderful; you could use just the pre-sets and have tons of different light shows on hand. If you dig deeper into the app, virtually unlimited color choices can be had; you can program the "zones" of the lights, or each light individually, to a different color. The things you can program these lights for is limited only by your imagination. You can save a light set-up you make to saved scenes and recall it later. Spend some time with the app and it will start to make sense. I love these lights and the effects they can do. I can go to the preset "candlelight", turn the intensity down and I have a warm white wash of light for security or just a really nice, non-holiday no-nonsense glow on the house. I have good connectivity from phone/app to the controller via bluetooth and can change settings from inside the house and the front yard. App setup is very easy and I've never had a problem connecting. Installation: you will read this in some other reviews here and I'm going to repeat it to save you some heartache: before you get started, plan on buying additional mounting clips and screws. There are only enough clips and screws for every 4th light included with the kit. You can find clips very similar to these on Amazon with 1 screw holding the tab over the wire for a secure mount. I bought enough aftermarket clips of the same design to have one for every light on the string as I didn't want to climb that ladder again to re-attach lights that had come un-stuck using the 3M tape only. Another bit of advice: toss the little screws that come with the light kit. They are small, are cheaply made, the Phillips heads strip easily and they do not self-tap easily. I threw all those little screws away and bought 1 inch self-tapping drywall screws that are much easier to get started as you work on a ladder while reaching up under the eaves of a house. Use one clip per light, use larger, better screws and your time on the ladder will be much more pleasant. Use a spacer to make sure the lights are mounted the SAME distance from your vertical wall. I used a piece of wood to make sure each light was stuck up exactly 1 inch from the vertical wall. The lights emit a cone of light downward and the edges of the cone are very sharp; if you randomly stick the lights up and don't measure the distance from your vertical wall exactly, the cones of lights will be all different sizes and look a little wonky. I would buy these lights again with no hesitation. If you go with this set, buy extra clips and take your time with installation; you will have some really cool, professional looking lights that you can program to do tons of things. Dec. 2024 update: One year later and the light system still works perfectly. No maintenance of any kind was needed. I have created and stored four different Christmas patterns/scenes and team color scenes for our football team game days. I still recommend this set without hesitation.

I would purchase these over and over again. Easy to install, works great in all seasons from -10F to 100F, no issues at all. I love how customized you can get, as well as the community sharing feature to see what other users have created. I've had multiple people comment on how much they enjoy them as well. Timer is a great feature to go on and off with the sunrise/sunset. So many color options, AI can help you, and brightness adjustment is a plus. Easy and fun to use.

Love these. Expensive but worth the price. Even had people knock on my door after dark commenting how bright they are. Install of 150 ft. took about 3 hours with wifes help. 3MAdhesives are very secure on soffits and endured -45c temps over a Canadian winter. App is very intuitive and has a lot of options. As a bonus I can stop and start the lights with mu Amazon Echo 8s

Govee for the WIN. My intention for these lights was all year usage with the benefit of being able to create scenes for holidays and special events. I knew with this investment I wanted to put the time into a clean annd professional installation. Out of the box 3M adhesive is included however, I knew due to our location and temperature conditions the adhesive wouldn’t be the best answer for a long-term installation. I made my own mounting track. I spent the weekend doing the installation and I am now almost 2 years in and the lights still look amazing. The Govee app allows you to create full automations, but not only that with the integration into Alexa the lights connect into powerful home automation systems. HA, Alexa… etc. I would highly recommend Govee permanent outdoor lights for any addition to your home I have helped 30 people with the installation and the set up of these products and specifically these lights all with the same feedback of money well spent and they absolutely love the look! My recommendation would be if you are going to make the investment in these lights take the time to do right with a clean installation and I promise you will have compliments from passer by day in and day out!
