A month before getting this I had fractured my L1 vertabrae whilst falling while walking the dog, and was still finding moving around difficult. I got this to add support for my back, but I only put it on this afternoon after having it delivered and almost immediately felt more supported and comfortable. In terms of pain relief, the pain has visibly declined since putting it on. I am about a uk 12-14 but went for the L, and could have gone for the M too. The adjustable straps are good to make it tighter. I find mobility very easy in this, and the material feels really sturdy. Sitting isn’t particularly comfortable due to the boning, but it’s not too bad.Good value for money for the comfort. Definitely recommend!

I’ve had sciatica for many years which led to me having a microdiscectomy 10 years ago. The operation was successful in terms of me being able to have a lot more freedom of movement and not being in agonising pain every day.However, I still have chronic back pain and experience sciatic pain which comes and goes.Positives about this product are:1. This back brace really helps as a preventative measure to reduce the risk of injury. I always wear it if I know I’m going to lift something heavy.2. Helps speed up recovery when I have sciatic flare-ups.3. Recovery from back pain is faster when wearing this brace.4. Well made. I have had two of these during 7 years (due to weight loss) and the first one lasted for 5 years and is still going strong (given to a family member), current one is just as good.5. Supportive boning all around. Others I have used have been either too flimsy or too restrictive.6. The height of brace I find works really well in terms of the area it supports.7. Good support whether standing or sitting.8. Relatively comfortable even when carrying out activities that require bending or during exercise.9. Strong velcro that stays stuck! This does not pop open.10. Obviously no brace is completely comfortable but this is supportive and makes you aware of your posture.Negatives:1. The only negative I can think of is that if you have weak shoulder/arm/wrist pain it may be difficult for you to fasten the brace to the desired tension.I have had a shoulder injury so have experienced this personally, however, someone else will be able to help you fasten it easily enough or you could use place your feet apart, place one hand on a wall and use this to push against and fasten the brace to a better supportive tension.I’d really recommend this as a preventative and recovery aid if you have back problems or sciatica or if you want to ensure that you protect your back during heavy lifting.

A great support belt, I've used a narrow version in the past which was ok but not great.This belt is nice and wide so offers a greater amount of support.I first put my back out around 2009 and have intermittent bouts of glass back syndrome, some last a couple of days and are more of an annoyance than anything else but some are extremely debilitating and exhausting. Last week I felt the familiar twinge and hoped it would resolve itself with some gentle stretching....unfortunately not. The absolute agony of taking one step, the near impossible feat of putting on socks and forget having a whole nights sleep! The exhaustive attempts at getting comfortable during the day. I'm not one for heading to the medicine cupboard for everything, my last bad attack led me to the chemist where I purchased the narrow belt and the pharmacist suggested taking one co-codamol prior to bed time to allow a decent nights kip. I tried one but didn't really like the idea of those.I ordered this belt on Friday and it arrived Saturday evening....I donned the belt, the first Velcro fastening held the belt fairly tight....the secondary Velcro strap really pulls it tight!!! Instantly felt my core being strengthened and the muscle spasms practically ceased and I was left with the annoyance feeling of a dull pain that is definitely tolerable compared to the stabbing pain that will drop you to the floor!Be aware that wearing it for a period of several hours will generate heat which in turn will aggravate your skin....I wore it over a t-shirt and accidentally fell asleep...when I awoke my first thought was "this is going to hurt when I try and stand up" ....didn't happen!! Was a joy to stand up without wincing, but I did notice a slight rash around my waist on the side I slept on. The other side was absolutely fine though.If you suffer with sciatica then this belt will help alleviate some of the issues.

Put this belt on upon arrival left it on five hours and it took away all pain in my lower back it was bliss. after 4 days of constant use my back has completely ceased to give me pain Can’t get a doctor to get off their fat backside to look at my back or examine me to diagnose my problem overpaid underworked. Self diagnosis using google possible trapped sciatic nerve or sciatica been in pain nine months tried everything for relief and first impressions are this is working great had it on 12 hours today and not a twinge been gardening plumbing in a new dishwasher general handiwork it’s the best day I have had in 9 months it’s made a hell of a difference to my pain no ibuprofen or gels today just this brace. I’m happy so. good enough to keep this and see how it fairs in the long run and how well it lasts the Velcro is really good and strong and has held in place all day, if you wear it to tight it’s hard to sit The supports in the back are strong and very supportive and well sown together so far its excellent value for money, not noticed any sweating from the belt area I’ll see how that goes in the gym on Monday it did get a bit wet and sweaty but soon dried out after taking it off so far a good purchase the pain relief has been fantastic. Further update been using on and off for a few weeks and I have no back pain at all during normal living but do keep it on in gym and can do all the back exercises without any difficulty or discomfort the best £20. I’ve spent in years well recommended by me

Comfort, adjustable and the support it gives me!

This brace for me kicks ass! I'm a double fusion surgery lower-back kind of person who very easily can sleep wrong and wake up stiff as a board and pain like ???.So I'll throw on this badboy and make that first trip to the morning piss alot easier than if I didn't have the brace.For me it works!!

Ich bin mit dem Stützgürtel absolut zufrieden. Nach bisher zweimaliger Anwendung bei der Gartenarbeit und dem nicht gerade Rücken-freundlichen Brennholz stapeln nach Anlieferung, kann ich sagen, dass die Belastung vor allem des unteren Rückens um einiges weniger und angenehmer ausfällt als ohne. Habe ich bisher am nächsten Tag durch das Bücken Schwierigkeiten gehabt schmerzfrei und mit lahmer Muskulatur aus dem Bett zu kommen, so bin ich nach Benutzung des Gürtels nahezu ohne Probleme aufgestanden. Den Gürtel sollte man wirklich nach beiligender Beschreibung kurz über dem Hintern anlegen, weil er dort seine volle und richtige Stützwirkung entfaltet. Ich kann den Gürtel ohne schlechtes Gewissen weiter empfehlen und würde ihn wieder kaufen.
