Captures the essence of a small, powerful, usable, EDC flashlight.
I love this flashlight. It is not inexpensive, but it is an excellent value for my use case. It has an incredibly bright front light, which I use on dark streets, corridors, etc. My most common use is the side light, which is perfect for reading small-fonted menus in dimly-lit restaurants. In every way, it is superior to my iPhone flashlight, which causes my entire family to groan when I use it to read a menu, possibly because it has become a cliched symbol of middle-age ocular deterioration, or because the iPhone’s dimmest setting is brighter than the dimmest setting on the RovyVon. I also use the red, quick-flashing light when I’m walking on a road at night. It’s miniscule and easily fits in even a small pocket so you’ll actually take it out and use it. It has a 2-way clip so you can clip it onto a brimmed hat. This little light is one of my top 25 all-time possessions, because of its perfect design, build-quality and practicality. It’s the quintessence of an EDC flashlight. Just get one and you’ll understand.

Great Flashlight
The RovyVon A8 is a compact and versatile flashlight that offers impressive performance in a small package. Here's a review of its features:1. Build Quality: The A8 is built with a durable titanium alloy body, which gives it a solid and robust feel. The construction is excellent, and the flashlight is also waterproof and impact resistant, making it suitable for outdoor use.2. Compact and Portable: The A8 is incredibly small and lightweight, making it easy to carry in your pocket or attach it to a keychain using the included keychain ring. Despite its size, it delivers a surprising amount of light.3. Brightness and Modes: This flashlight features a Cree XP-G3 LED that can produce up to 650 lumens of brightness, which is quite impressive for its size. It offers four different brightness levels, a strobe mode, and a moonlight mode for low-level illumination.4. Battery Life: The A8 uses a built-in rechargeable lithium polymer battery, which provides a decent runtime. The flashlight also has a power indicator that lets you know the battery level, ensuring you won't be caught off guard without power.5. User-Friendly Interface: The A8 has a simple and intuitive user interface. With a single side switch, you can easily cycle through the different modes and access the strobe and moonlight functions.6. Versatility: This flashlight comes with a removable stainless steel pocket clip that allows for different carrying options. It can be used as a handheld flashlight, attached to a keychain, or clipped onto a backpack or hat.7. Additional Features: The A8 features a stainless steel side switch that is easy to locate and operate, even in the dark. It also has a lockout function to prevent accidental activation.Overall, the RovyVon A8 is an impressive flashlight that offers excellent build quality, compactness, and brightness. It's a great choice for everyday carry, outdoor activities, or emergency situations.

Great EDC flashlight.
Love that this flashlight is rechargeable with a USB-C port. It’s super bright despite the size, and it is small and lightweight enough to fit in any purse or pocket. It is so much brighter than a phone flashlight and comes in handy surprisingly often!

Someone's information is not right or there are more generations. The devil is in the details.
REVIEW UPDATE:The seller got in touch with me and sent the updated (current gen) flashlight! It now works exactly as expected!I assume that the seller has updated this listing to be more accurate, or they now have the latest model in stock, but you can buy with confidence that the seller will work with you to make things right if you don't buy what you expect! The only thing I have to add is that the flashlight's button is harder to press, I kinda have to use the tip of my finger or fingernail to press it but I've been told that was intentional to keep the rubber from falling off.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------OLD REVIEW:Before purchasing this light, I looked up 3rd generation Rovyvon Aurora A5 and I came across the manufacturer's website which clearly details the operation of this flashlight. It states that you click 5 times to lock the flashlight, and 5 times to unlock the flashlight. The included manual (and operation) of the light I received does not say this. In fact it does have a lockout feature but it is activated by holding the button for 5 seconds to lock, and 3 seconds to unlock. This is not desirable to me as like the A8 operation description on their website, I believe momentary on should happen by simply holding the button (even though it is not stated).Anyway, enough complaints aside, let's compare it to 1st and 2nd generation Auroras with sidelights!New features in Gen 3:- Lockout: Not what I expected per rovyvon's website, but better than nothing. I will probably return this light and re-order from rovyvon's website though.- Magnetic clip: Significantly beefier than the Gen 2 Auroras. Works really good! Less sexy than the Gen 1 and Gen 2 clips, but way more functional IMO.- Magnetic tail: Not sure I agree with making it a separate detachable piece. I love that it's decently strong. Attaches itself to a piece of sheet steel horizontally pretty well!- USB C: Welcome addition over USB MicroComparisons from Gen 2:- Brightness: The primary LED in my A5 is slightly brighter than the LED in my A5 7075 Gen 2.- Side LEDs: Gen 2 seems slightly brighter, the stats seem to back it up- Moonlight: Gen 2 seems brighter, numbers back it up. I actually prefer the dimmer 0.5lm of the Gen 3- Momentary On: Being able to hold down the button to get momentary on is extremely desirable to me. I may return the Gen 3 because it omits this feature.-Button: Easier to push than Gen2. Surface feels larger? closer to the top? Easier to accidentally turn on, but also easier to use.Comparisons from Gen 1:- Glow in the dark (GITD): A5 model's trademark feature. Gen 3's case is actually clear enough that UV can get through to check bills in my experience, vs Gen 1's body was so saturated with glow particles that this was not possible. The Gen 3 manual says the UV light is only used to charge the body, but for me, it can pull double duty. HOWEVER, I purchased an A8 for that purpose. The original Gen1 body glows significantly brighter (due to higher concentration of glow particles) and it feels like it glows longer (because of the higher concentration is easier to spot after longer periods). Both last significantly longer than the Nitecore Tiki. I would still reccomend the Gen1 if high quality glow in the dark body was a feature you desired.- Momentary On: Being able to hold down the button to get momentary on is extremely desirable to me. I may return the Gen 3 because it omits this feature.- Button: Button is smaller but just as easy to press and use in my opinion. Conclusion: A nice upgrade over the Gen 1 (so long as you don't care about glow in the dark brightness or momentary on.A sideways upgrade over the Gen 2. Magnet and beefier clip is a welcome addition and USB-C is perfect. Loss of momentary on is a bit of a dealbreaker though.
