Good saw.
I'm a beginner rock hound. I found this saw easy to set up and use.

Cuts well for the price
Saw cuts well, got a bit wet when I first started it; the guard is there for a reason so put it down when you first start the saw. I wish it had a drain on the front with some kind of valve. It has to be unplugged and carried somewhere to dump out the water when you’re done for the day. It is fairly light and easy enough to handle, but the water pours off a little messy with the vice mounts in the corner. The vice takes some getting used to but holds stones well enough. Very quiet in operation. It is made out of heavy duty plastic and the build quality is good. It’s as accurate as you are but easy to cut a straight line by hand or with the vice. Compared to the other saws out there this a good deal at $600. I think some improvements could be made in the design like molding a drain into it etc.

I love my lil trim saw
Honestly this was probably one of the best investments I have made on myself regarding lapidary work. It's lightweight, you can use it inside during the winter because the sound really isn't that loud going through walls. When you're done using it, it's light enough to just carry it outside to dump the water and clean it. A 6" saw seems like the ideal size to do anything in jewelry size, cutting geodes, cutting a small window into the face of one of your pieces, etc. Lots of utility in this. Highly recommend if you're looking to buy your first lapidary trim saw. Very minimal danger or any risk using this. Get this instead of a tile saw.

Really great trim saw for small rocks
This Hi-Tech Diamond 6” trim saw arrived well packed and was easy to put together and learn to use. It is definitely a great addition to my rock collecting hobby. Now I can see what is inside my rocks as well a trim them down to use for jewelry making! This saw was an excellent choice for my shop as it doesn’t take too much room on the workbench nor does the spray go everywhere when used. There is definitely spray from the water on the blade, but is directional and easily cleaned. It would be nice if the water basin for the saw had a drain plug, but I can scoop out most of the dirty water and dry the rest of the basin with an old shop towel for a relatively quick cleanup.

Design
Splash guard is not good enough to me, and the sawblade not sure if that has enough diamonds coating on it. The design should need a direct drain hole to be able for a hose connection.
